  1. Anyone noticed that upgrading to 8.1 seems to naff up the .NET 3.5 software breaking any apps that use it?
  2. It did not show on my Win 8 VM until I installed all available Windows updates! Had about 40 outstanding. Installed them all, rebooted and it then showed in the Store. The only useful thing I've found is that if you right click it, you get access to a load of admin related utilities. Apart from that, it simply loads Metro.
  3. Mines now download and installed from the store too. My machine came back online after 30 minutes or so, however my RTO software seems to have bee broken by the update as I can see my PC but cannot connect to it!
  4. Mine installed and said it needed a reboot. Hit OK and it's not come back up yet! That was 20 minutes ago too!!! Something for me to do when I get home I guess...
  5. 81%! Downloaded, package prepared, now applying.
  6. Maybe a silly question, but is there any way to view the download detail progress of an update in the store? If I hover over it, I can see 16% but not speed, eta etc.
  7. I can't imagine Microsoft's servers being overloaded for 8.1 like Apples for iOS7!
  8. Store. Connected through to my home PC. Go into the Store (If you have UAC disabled, it will complain about needing it enabled to load the Store!!!) and it's the first huge tile saying Windows 8.1 Available. Currently downloading - 3.91GB!
  9. Not sure how accurate this is, but according to PC Pro, it will be available via the Microsoft Store as a free download that will install over the op of the existing Windows install. Windows 8.1 released at noon | News | PC Pro
  10. 1. Terraria is awesome. 2. it has a bunny firing cannon. Alas, it's not a FPS which is what I crave at the moment.
  11. I think some DayZ action will fill the void for a bit. Failing that, back to BF3.
  12. Seems the Beta is over now. Was really enjoying playing this. It's going to feel like a long wait for the full release.
  13. I'd chip in some jokes but I can only think of rude NSFW ones!

    VirtualBox 4.3

A new, really cool feature is that you can now record video of your VM session. Handy for creating training material!

  20. Wait until you see the size of the key!
  21. No luck. Had a onlie chat with EA's support and got nowhere. Tried Steam but says my key is invalid.
  22. Another area where Steam outshines Origin is that you can enter valid, old CD keyas to add the games to your Steam library. I've tried doing the same to my copy of BF2 & 2142 in Origin but with no luck. Anyone know if it is possible to add old DVD copys of games into Origin?
  23. Compared to what is available on the market, it's a lot more affordable then some options! What do you consider 'cheap'?
  24. Sorry if this covers a bit of what you already know! FDS allows access to multiple databases. Each FMS client has FDS but is only used in multiple FMS database environments. When ran for the first time, you configure it with LA and DfE number, point it to the SS_FMS_Companies.ini (which contains details about the FMS databases you have) and point it to where the Finance.exe is. Once configured, user can either load into the appropriate FMS databases through FDS, or use it to create direct desktop shortcuts. I think in the tools menu you can reconfigure it. Simply copy the SS_FMS_Companies.ini into the local C:\Program Files\SIMS\FMSSQL folder, run FDS and go to the tools menu and configuration (going from memory here, may be different but sure you CNN find it!). Just amend the location of the SS_FMS file to point to the local one rather than the one on the S: drive. Doubt SOLUS3 is to blame on this one as it does not support remote configuring of FDS! We believe it happens when users either try to open other FMS databases when they already have FMS open, or when multiple users access different databases at the same time, but we've not tested it.
  25. Give it 20 months and you will most likely be a full Android convert!
