I just checked the 5 FSMO role are on the server running the backup solution. This site has about 300 clients in AD. Where is the best place to move FSMO roles to, a DC in hyper-v local storage?

I changed the task sequence to use Apply Driver Package and selected the Driver package for that machine and it now worked. So normally you import the drives and then make them part of a Drive Package?

I have SCCM and it has the driver but it is not installing it and having a functioning network for carrying out the next stage. Also what it the difference between a Driver Packages and Just Drivers?

Yes there are multiple DNS records for DC. Also the FSMO is on the backup server.

What the best way of dealing with AD servers with multiple IP addresses. I found that I have 5 DC with multiple IP addresses and I what to move them on to one IP address each. Any pointers on getting there?

Please could someone explain where you need to go in profile manager and what I need to do as I am still only seeing parts of the story?

Ok i need to see what type of CSV it is and that might effect the choose of placement. I also got to sort out IP addressing as the server seem to have ip addresses in each client VLAN and no routing setup on the L3 switch. Not sure what to do first IP address or hyper-V? I also have 4 DC's a bit over kill for 300 clients.

The hyper-v server are clustered I heard it is hard getting a CSV going without a DC. Would you have DHCP server in your clustered instance? I want all of the key stuff on new servers i.e. the hyper-v hosts. I've seen discussions about putting a DC on local storage on one of your hosts and setting a rule so it will startup when the host does. I want to put my FSMO roles on the same server.

I seem to be having issues sending mail to Yahoo from Office 365. I have 3 addresses being rejected with "This user doesn't have a yahoo.co.uk account " this is even thought that the address in SIMS!

I started in a new job and found the folder redirection policy at the base of the Domain. Could this be slowing down local admin logins? I am I also right in thinking folder redirection is best to the home drive defined in active directory? I also found redirection to the local profile which seems a bit pointless.

I looking to change all passwords starting with the administrator I have the SA password.

They tested the copier and it will not load the firmware as the network is bust so they have now ordered a new main board for the copier.

I am looking to change the Admin password I have looked in SQL management studio and I see that Windows Authentication is used to logon on. I take it I also need to change the account that SQL server runs under to Local system or another account? It would then just be scheduled task that need looking into.

I am waiting for the IT service team member of the copier company to come out an have a look. I did try putting the mac address into DHCP and also put the IP address on the laptop and plugged into the network port where the copier goes and that worked fine.

I have a Canon photocopier that warns of a duplicate ip address even when on dhcp. I have tried changing the address but the warning stays. I tried pinging the address and nothing any suggestions anything with the same address.

Has worked over a VPN previously but not very reliably so make those changes might be worth it.
