These are free to collect for any maintained sector education institution. We are in Cambridge. Projectors: Epson EB-475Wi x 3 Epson EB-585W x 1 NEC NP300 x 1 NEC NP305G x 6 NEC VT470 x 5 NEC VT480 x 1 Interactive whiteboards (all Smart). A few have had pen trays removed during dismounting; one has no pen tray.   8. Yes, shipping should be possible, so long as we can agree a method, and responsibility for costs and transit risks. The crucial thing is really that they provide value to a public-sector school.

  10. Hi folks. I have 113 6-year-old Wyse Z90D7 thin clients (pre-Dell buyout) all in good shape. They were the highest powered devices (dual core, 4GB RAM) we could buy at the time, and they are still pretty competent VDI client devices compared to a lot of zero-clients out there. They have embedded Windows 7. I would much rather give these away free to someone who can get some good value out of them in a maintained-sector context, which would qualify as a public benefit for us, as an independent school. Anyone interested?

  15. A reliable, enthusiastic individual is needed for this busy and diverse role, in an established and hard-working team, providing an IT support service to staff and pupils. You will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the School’s IT and audio-visual equipment, and assisting the IT Systems Manager. This is a first-line support role: you will operate the helpdesk, respond to support calls, diagnose and fix problems, and escalate more serious issues. Applicants should possess a genuine enthusiasm for IT and a real desire to learn new technologies. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work both as a team player and on your own initiative, numeracy and literacy in the English language are required. You must have relevant experience in a similar position, ideally in an educational context. The ideal candidate will already have some relevant IT qualifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA certification. Appropriate training is provided. Essential experience: supporting users of networked PCs, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, audio-visual equipment. It will be an advantage to have any experience of Microsoft server technologies, Active Directory, Group Policy, or MacOS X. Based on working Monday to Friday, flexibility and occasional Saturday morning cover are also required. Benefits include: term time meals whilst on duty, a contributory pension scheme, membership of the school Sports Complex and 33 days holidays (including Bank Holidays). The Leys is an independent day and boarding school with about 550 pupils. The IT estate consists of in the region of 350 Windows PCs and terminals, and a suite of Macs in our Music School. We run Windows virtual servers, using VMWare, on an Equallogic SAN. Our boarding houses are served by an Aerohive wireless network. Pupils are permitted to connect laptops to the wireless network, through a Bradford Networks NAC solution. The role includes responsibility for routine monitoring of servers.
