Just a quick check, how have you already attempted to run silently?? It suggests that the LMDriver should be first installed (rebooted) then launch setup.exe -s

Scott, would it be possible to provide a download link to the software installer you want to make silent. If it's too big, are you able to point to it from the Acer website...

Looking at those two AV comparisons sites linked above, Security Essentials doesn't fair too well in terms of protection; in fact it is possibly one of the worst. That said, if you've not had any problems then clearly it works well for some folks. I went through a period a while back of just using the built-in Defender then I used Security Essentials, but I experienced a 'hesitation' on the system when I opened certain folders on my PC, which I no longer experience no I use BitDefender.

Very light on resources, and their AV engine is usually in the top three for best protection (Internet Security). Needs you to assign an email account after 30 days, but I give them my junk address and they've only ever sent one email offering a discount for the full product. I've done something similar to that in the past, but I used conditional formatting. It'll be on an old backup somewhere if you were desparate, but without seeing a sample of the spreadsheet it's hard to picture what you mean.

I see the diagnostic service in the list of possible offenders, is it worth checking if an app silently crashed in the background windows is creating an error report/dump - look at 'Problem reports'

Currently don't have an MDM and looking to switch to one - we now have close to 30 iPads. Looking for recommendations to get started. We have a Meraki Wireless network and pay the annual subscription (mandatory!!) for their cloud management of the wireless network. I'm now wondering whether that means we can manage our iPads through that same dashboard for free??? Or is that just wishful thinking? Help.

Thanks for the honesty Caffrey, something for me to bear in mind. I always think that the customer service, if you need them, is a major selling point of a company. There products are good, but interesting that they don't seem to put the same effort into after-sales care. Hope it works out for you. If you did return it, in one school I've reused an old RM server with NAS4Free. Still going strong and loads of great features. If you were building from fresh, possibly FreeNAS might be better - needs beefier hardware.

Totally agree. With Azure AD, I wondered what direction they were taking, and this part of their strategy possibly suggests a move towards a more cloud based management. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, but it makes me shudder to think of what could possibly go wrong with that. Hadn't given much thought to the Education versions of 10, I was thinking of the standard editions Pro/Enterprise. Although, sods law, I encouraged one school last year to withdraw from the EES subscription framework, they were covered for their OS licensing and just bought office outright. Hmmm, looking at it in more detail, it kind of looks anti-deployment - they show a lot of hands-on interaction ?!? Is that how it looks to you? Those features you mentioned, it highlights that it applies to 10 Pro and 10 Pro for Education. What version are you thinking of using. Either way, for the most part, I'm scheduling 2017 for moving to Windows 10. This coming academic year will still be 7. What's your strategy - to use the technical term

I think you misunderstood the question. Removing the ei.cfg file helps to make an iso 'universal', but won't help when he wants to add drivers to each edition, within the wim file.
