  12. I think Al needs to provide some higher quality face shots. Maybe from different angles and making different expressions. It would make all the photoshops soo much better. Not that I'm saying the ones so far have been bad.
  13. This is me after watching that video.
  14. Well, presumably after filming todays video you went back in time to do yesterdays video?
  15. Ours is based on a printer. The machine is always turned on and prints when pressing a single button to a receipt printer. The list prints in less than a second (never timed it, but it's pretty quick). It's tested weekly at the same time as our call point test and is on a UPS which if it fails or loses power will automatically print the list and disable anymore signing ins. As you say anything electronic can never be 100% reliable but our (and I'd presume most) electronic signing in system was close enough to satisfy the safety people. Student registers are done in SIMS and after AM and PM registration office staff mark students who are absent on a laminated class list which is taken out in case of fire. We're a primary with ~500 pupils so the load on the office staff is minimal
  16. we made our own in house solution. It's PHP/MYSQL based and has a touch screen for staff and visitors to sign in. If a visitor it prints a badge on a label printer. In the case of a fire there's a big red button on reception that when pressed prints an onsite list on a receipt printer. Office staff can prebook visitors, check time logs, reprint badges etc. from any workstation on the network. Works well as it's been designed based around what our school needs. If we discover something else we need we can just add it.

  20. I can't give you any definitive answer but I'd guess at it been a blank pin out board of some sorts.
