i think im decided now windows 7 32 bit it is premier pro installed on our other machines fine with 32 os so i might get the 64bit with 32bit downgrade option
-
3 years so 32bit is the way to go i think
-
also the more ram the better i say as we are trying to future proof our system so was looking at i5s with 8 gig of ram as they turn out pretty cheap sub 400 mark
-
our printserver is windows server 2003 do i need 64bit drivers for this also

activ studio to activ inspire licencing question
round2it replied to round2it's topic in Promethean Direct Support
This is conflicting info from what tech support told me today the guy said I have to buy the licences if I didn't have a serial as I have only 8 copies with serial numbers now. Do you have a contact that I can ring so I can get the correct licensing sorted for our 28 boards. Really appreciate the reply. Rep added -
currently we have 28 boards and run activ studio 2 on windows xp over the summer we are upgrading to windows 7 i have been told that we can upgrade to activ inspire for free but i only have 8 copys (we did have 28) of the origional activ studio 2 (support tell me that one licence will do for 2 machines) so i have 16 covered but need some more licences (we had the discs but got rid of them years ago due to space constraints as activstudio only needed the one licence am i going to get charged for the rest that i need or will promethean understand and le me have some licences as we have the boards. how do you guys go about licencing activ inspire does it check online etc
-
Right after speaking to promethean they say that i can upgrade for free but i need the activstudio2 licence number we have 8 copies left so that would cover 16 machines as one licence =2 activ inspire installs i have 28 boards though and threw the discs out about 7 years ago as activ studio 2 han no restrictions. does anyone have any old copies of activ studio 2 they might want to donate what sort of checking does activ inspire do to validate itself?

How do you play radio in a webpage for tv displays around school
round2it replied to round2it's topic in How do you do....it?
or can anyone think of a way that a web page can play a folder of mp3 files -
Our head would like music playiong for the kids during break times, And the easiest way for me to do this is through a webpage i need a direct url to a audio stream bbc radio 1 for example to play without any user interaction we are using samsung displays with the god awful magic info (Xibo i know iknow) but it is what we have set up at the moment. We have a frog vle and wanted to create a page on there to basically just play the radio stream with out user interaction has anyone done this or do you know of a better way.

I am setting up a CCTV system in the loft but don't want to run cat 5 What I am after is some kind of bridge that will talk to my existing wireless system Box that picks up the wireless signal and then plugs into the normal LAN port at the back of the pc It's a CCTV system so no windows operating system so just want something that plugs in and goes Any sudgestions was thinking about Ethernet over powerline but I have a perfectly good wireless system. Or shall I just whack some cat 5 in I can't think what I need my mind has gone blank

use the managed users it gives you more flexability and you can control from a central point toolbars etc it works on a profile type basis and you can add different profiles to different users (thats bad english) we have just set this up also we set up a share on a mapped drive set permissions accordingly and away it went no problems with the install for xp if using windows 7 we had a problem with the prediction part stopping after about 4 or 5 words if you come across this you need to look in hkey current user control panel desktop look for low level hooks timeout set to decimal 10000 after i applied that it has been fine.
