    Youtube

If so, then you are looking at a whole new can of worms...well, at least new because of Youtube. Staff will allow students access to their accounts just to access youtube. Hoorah!
  2. *Howls with laughter* Oooh, my sides ache.
  3. I find that the RMMC config for bypassing proxies does not work. After modifying the GPO directly, however...it did. Since then, I havn't bothered with that funcionality of RMMC.
  4. Photostory 3 is a freebee from Microsoft, and is excellent for creating a WMV from any collection of photos. Automatic pan-and-scan if you just follow defaults! Insert your music...then just loop the movie.

    Profile Repair

I know a chap who has had the same roaming profile for years (since XP came out). Now for some reason, he is unable to log himself in. Windows reports a security error and will log him in using a temp profile...etc. Since his profile is his life (literally), I am not able to remove it and give him a new one. To that end lies my question...Are there any tools that will attempt a repair of the profile without deleting anything?

    Star Trek

I (very vaguely) remember an episode of Voyager - where B'Elanna Torres jumped out of a ship for an orbital freefall. Ok, it was done in the holiday deck, but it was the same as Kirk's jump onto the mining platform! http://www.star-trek-voyager.net/articles/orbitalskydiving.htm

    Star Trek

Dunno about other stuff...but the excuse thingy link is dead.
  9. We are currently trying to synch the calendars from the LP to outlook for users here. Unfortunately, the teachers are receiving this error... _____________________________________ task 'sharepoint' reported error 0x8000ffff _____________________________________ I have looked up this problem and found loads of possible solutions, but rather than sit and try each one, I was wondering if anybody else has come across this? We use CC3 on XPSP2, IE7, Office Ent 2007(SP1) It appears to function for those of us who are lucky enough to hold a domain admin account, even though the teachers are admin of the local workstation...so this is pointing to a group policy I would think...but I cannot see it! Anybody?
  10. Hows about this one? I cancelled my 'Virgin' service in February 2007. They cut telephone, broadband and TV in April, but I kept getting a bill from them for a following 7 months...each with its own broadband, telephone and TV. The TV one had 14-16 PPV movies added on each month, so by the 7 months up, we owed £1200 (according to them). Needless to say, I just ignored all the letters and allowed them to take me to court...where I produced my cutoff confirmation papers. Egg on their faces. Oh yes, indeed.

    Blocking yuuguu

Blocking you say? You, as a team need to talk to the people that govern the students online presence. Us as managers are merely the caretakers. Having students chat online is dangerous...especially when the other person on the end of the conversation calls himself 'Sally'. There are quite a few ground rules we must follow - not allowing chatting is one of the good ones. The people you need to talk to are at BECTA. (Becta home)
  13. To answer your question. No, teaching staff are NOT allowed full access to student directories. And that's straight from an OFSTED inspector's mouth. Having said that, the RM (CC3) system is setup to give staff full access to student accounts if they become 'Delegates'. Naughty...very naughty. But I imagine that this was written before the no-fullaccess rule came into force.
