Raising the functional level of the domain from 2000 to 2003
Domino replied to Bruce123's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Probably not an issue, but worth mentioning - if you've any older Unix or Linux boxes that authenticate with the domain it's worth checking the samba, PAM and ldap resources all support the newer schemas. We had issues with some older CentOS and Redhat boxes here when we went to 2008 -
In that case I'm not telling - lest I get another 1am sms... Open contacts, hit menu, select import/export and you can see the various sources available to get them from.

Yay! you've taken the plunge! RE: contacts, have you tried checking the SIM contacts for the missing ones? Not used sprite backup so can't advise with it I'm afraid, but as above Titanium is probably the way to go in the future

Ideas on encouraging staff to use their Interactive Boards
Domino replied to ninjabeaver's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Have you looked at Sankore? Sankoré EduGeek.net - BETT 2011 - open source IWB software, has a webkit back end so w3c compatible apps can be developed for it. even has a little app store built in that lets you drag web resources right to the workspace. To my mind much less intimidating than the smart or promethean software - might be a way to get people seeing what's possible. Also, the way I increased take up was to train 2 or 3 of the more technically minded staff as to what was possible with the board. they then went off, made resources etc and used them in lessons. then those teachers did training sessions during an inset for other staff members. That way you're not just showing them what's possible with an IWB, there's someone who's used it well showing how it can be used as a teaching aid. -

Strangely apt typo there....

Unrevoked should do the trick unrevoked That'll give you root- allow you to flash the rom etc. If you want full HBOOT s-off (change system partition tables, etc) you'll need to use alpharev AlphaRev 1.8 afterwards

I think there's a crossed wire here.. Scholarpack, you're saying there's better ways of doing things - true Localzuk is saying that people are still using flash - also true, especially in the education market. Now shush - before I bang your heads together -

Source? From here: Microsoft Reveals Windows Phone 7 Sales Figures It just made me laugh that they didn't see fit to put copy and paste into the initial release after the absolute press slaughter that apple got over the same thing in the 1st iPhone. And hey, silverlight support! good to know they're adding platforms that are dying a death ;-) -
Get loan equipment in and test it as much as possible. If they won't give you loan equipment, they obviously don't have much faith in it ;-) Personally I've found the Ruckus kit to provide unrivalled performance, at a great price. Install, configure and forget is probably the best endorsement I could give it.

ARGH! one of my pet hates is people who don't understand tech trying to talk tech.. I work in a software development firm - so we get a lot of it. people coming into my office saying "is there a problem with the network?" me:"...not that I'm aware of?" them: "well my computer won't turn on so I thought you'd changed something" *facepalm*

In all honesty Ubuntu is probably your best bet. Not only is it full of big friendly buttons, but its one of the widest used consumer level linux OS's so has the widest support base available. Also, if the machine is really bad - installing the netbook remix edition might be an idea, as its much less power hungry and also has a revised interface. http://s0n1c2122.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/ubuntu_netbook_10-04.png
