Exchange tends to grab as much RAM as it can, so don't worry about the ysage too much. Is this a 2010 deployment? one server? Has it got multiple network cards, and do you have them trunked/linked at all?

Budget planning - book a meeting with the finance team once you're reasonably settled, and talk to them about what you're expected to include. Your top priorities should be reoccurring costs (make sure they're covered), making sure any hardware refreshes are accounted for, and ensuring that you're getting the best value on the items that are included. Maybe ask for course options? Esafety posters etc, have a look in the esafety forum: I know the smoothwall guys quite often provide good advice/resources along these lines. VLEs being 'best' is very subjective - really you want to look at what they want to get from it, and balance that with your own skillset, as you'll obviously need to administer/support it. Do you mean macs RDPing to a windows machine on the network? The microsoft rdp client for mac doesn't currently support remote desktop gateway - there are other alternatives (iTAP) that do, but most have a cost associated

you can run to reset the secure channel to the domain, basically what you're doing with the remove/add anyway. we have them every now and again, but if its a particular machine over and over it's likely indicative of a greater issue.

You'd be better off having the xp vm as part of your imaging process I think - but I've not used it for a while myself. Someone else might have more info...

This'll be due to the app having 16bit processing, which x64 windows can't emulate. Have you considered using XP mode to host the older apps? or look for newer equivilants?
