  2. it could be that on your home machine you've linked to your css file which isn't actually in your root folder, and have not copied it onto your pen drive. beeswax
  3. it's called BRAdmin. and having a quick scan through it there's a Configure POP3/SMTP link in there which seems to imply that you can get the printer to email you, but I haven't had time to look into it. beeswax

    I burnt it onto a dvd-rw, but somehow it messed up the last half hour of Lewis which was already there from sunday night. hehe beeswax
  8. where can i get this tool 80%of printers are are that model russ it comes on the installation cd. let it autorun then you should see 2 sections, the top one (I think) is for stand alone etc, the bottom one is for administrators (or somethiong along those lines) has the utility, called BRE... or something similar. sorry, end of week, wind down. beeswax
  9. had a call on my mobile from RM on my way home. Basically he said that if the system has already been operational, then the problem wasn't major. His reccommendation was to go into aps (I'm sorry, but I was driving) and stop postmaster and tomcat, then restart them, making sure that postmaster is started first. I haven't had time to do this yet, will have to wait til monday. beeswax

  13. just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... for some reason yesterday afternoon the client machine I'm running tests on failed to connect to the APS on the server. just now I find that I can't log on as admin, I'm getting "Error:Connection Failed" so I went to the server itself, same message. has anyone else encountered this problem? beeswax
  14. we use quite a few Brother HL-5170DN printers and there's a utility with the drivers which allows you to view all the printers on the network, and what they're up to, such as toner low etc. as far as I can see it still requires you to be proactive, but with this KS3 pilot I haven't had much time for anything else. beeswax

  17. I left school governance 3 years ago, so ofsted reports tend not to hit my in tray these days, but I'll see if I can locate it in my present school. I'm a techie, not a teacher by the way. beeswax
