You're welcome. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment, as exciting as it is to some, I think September is a reasonable time to expect anyone to start using it. One thing to take into account is that it is unlikely to be used on every SIMS machine, users should be carefully selected on necessity and ability. That way if a graphics card needs swapping it won't have such a big impact.

The info we got straight from the horses mouth was that some high end machines did not work, some lower end ones did. It is pretty certain a dual core graphics card is needed but not all of them work... I'd like to say 'I hope that helps' but I'm sure it doesn't.

Whilst on the scrounge... does anyone have a spare Dell power supply? It's a connector with what looks like should have 4 little prongs with the socket on the laptop being female. No rush as it won't make the Saturday morning deadline for collection.

I opened up another of the same model and it had 2 modules, I can split that but if anyone has a couple of these, the kids would be most grateful, as would I.

Amongst a bunch of laptops donated to me is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V20350 which has a blank screen with 3 beeps followed by 1 beep on start up. I've googled with no joy and it's due to be picked up to wend its way to a school in S Africa Saturday. Any one have any idea what the beep indicate?

I am thinking about buying a Media Server for home. What I want, but not sure if I can have is at least 1TB storage and to be able to unplug alternate weekends to take and plug in to the girlfriends system, so a resonably small size. Any advice or recommendations?

I've seen a couple of demos. It does look good. My only worry is the minimum spec of the machine it will be used on, there was in December no real definitive spec, except a dual core graphics card. Not too much of a problem except.... not every dual core card works. i believe there is a lot of work behind the scenes to get it working, including freezing work on existing projects.

There is no extra charge, it will be part of Core SIMS.

Surely the depth of the tank means that the liquid temperature is fairly constant? or not?
