We have the iSAMS REST API and want to load some data into student manager by batch. We have 5000+ records to update and don't want to do this manually. We currently have some standard and custom fields to update in Student Manager. We have the data in an excel sheet with the txtSchoolID as the key. But how to transform this into a REST API Put/Patch call isn't something I've done before. Any ideas on how we can achieve this?

I have a specific question related to new students. When a new student is enrolled in our admission system (Open Apply) their details are automatically sent to iSAMS via the API and a new student created in applicants. When this happens, I have a trigger that fires off emails to various stakeholders around the school. My question is, when we move to the cloud I will lose access to the DB.... any recommendations on how to achieve this?

Anyone moved their iSAMS from on-prem to the cloud(iSAMS Cloud SAS)? If so, wondered if you'd mind providing a bit of feedback on the process and also your experience now that you are on iSAMS hosted cloud. We will def miss having direct access to the DB for queries, but also for triggers and direct DB updates. For example, power automate and SQL triggers used to fire emails or reports off when certain DB actions take place...... for example new Student or staff Created or archived. How do you achieve those kind of things if you don't have access to the cloud? Any real downsides you've experienced with the cloud service compare to on-prem. And the same for the positives? Hi Tom, I'd be interested in finding out some more details. We currently have on-prem iSAMS and are considering moving to iSAMS cloud. From your list we have 1 & 2 setup already, but I'm interested in how you do 3 & 4, especially the semantic models.

We use iSAMS, which has its own iTeacher app. They are discontinuing this however in favour of a dynamic web app. So basically, accessing via a browser. The advantage is that all devices will have the same functionality, which isn't the case at the moment and will obviously make development easier and standardised at iSAMS. It's not an app but users can add a shortcut to their device home screen so that it is easier to access.
