Hope you have a good RAID card to handle the speeds of the RAID 0 array! We had to get quite beefy RAID cards for the servers hosting our web applications and in the process found some drives just aren't up to the task in servers due to their garbage collection algorithms (TRIM commands aren't passed through).

Thanks for singing up! We now support SAML Authentication so you can use ADFS for SSO. This requires no ports to be opened. It's more tricky to set up at your end and we can only offer limited support with the configuration on your side. We're about to announce this new feature in an upcoming newsletter, so in the meantime if you'd like to set this up please drop us an email.

Thanks for the kind words - Assuming you're not already using Single Sign-On and/or LDAP Authentication, you can reset a password by editing the account and selecting a new password (or just enter random characters). It'll automatically email the new password to the user upon submitting. - Normally all bookable rooms will be assigned to categories already. You can always rename the Unassigned category to something else which will make it visible. However any resources in anything other than the Unassigned category count towards the number of resources allowed on the licence. - Good point about matching periods to times. We're just about to release extended support for multiple timetables - e.g. a Junior or Senior tier.

Hello We're absolutely thrilled to be a finalist for the ICT Company of the Year (<£1m turnover) award. It's been a very exciting year with a huge take up of our Parents Evening System while the popularity of our Room Booking System grows ever stronger. Thanks to everyone who has recommended us here on EduGeek and to those that have sent in their kind words which we display on our website. No doubt this has gone a long way to show the judges just how much we value outstanding customer support and making products that work well in the school. We use it every day (even weekends) and the speed is fine, though it's never going to be instant like an on-site solution. You can start a new "conversation" as they call it from inside Help Scout and choose to either have it as an internal note, or send an email to the end user.

Here at Room Booking System, we use Help Scout and I'd strongly recommend you at least give it a trial. We looked at lots of other software when changing from managing things by email: Zendesk, Freshdesk, Desk.com, Kayako, osTicket, UserVoice, Tender App, and more. I didn't like a lot of the other software because it was cumbersome for people to use. Obviously we're not a school but many schools contact us by email for support and without Help Scout, we'd be lost with a shared inbox. The best part is that it's invisible to end users, to them it's email. There isn't anything referencing a ticket number or "click here to add a reply" so it's incredibly easy for end users. At our end, it keeps track of all tickets, we can assign to people, change the status, add internal notes, create rules for messages to be automatically assigned (or auto-responded to), use saved replies, etc. It doesn't have a calendar, but I don't think it needs one anyway. Also tickets are either unassigned or assigned to one person. They're just about to release a knowledge base that can be used for both internal and external use, this is how it looks: Help Scout Support - Help Desk It's really helped us maintain our legendary support as it ensures no emails become lost or forgotten about unlike a shared inbox. 100% recommended!

Thanks Graham! Glad to hear it went well. Did you turn on the appointment gap to stop parents from booking consecutive appointments? We've found in other schools that when parents have 5 mins spare between appointments then they're at the next teacher before their appointment starts which puts a little pressure on the current parent to finish up on time.

We offer automatic integration with SIMS, Facility, Progresso & iSAMS and can import data very easily from most (if not all) others. I'm sure it'll work fine with Aspen - @GREED and I have met before!

We've just released a single sign-on feature for the Room Booking System which doesn't require any ports to be opened at your end. Likewise our SIMS integration doesn't require ports to be opened as the requests originate from your server. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
