I didnt mean in windows chaps I meant drivers being drivers within game engines. Being on the support end of game dev we seem to regulary be contacting ATI noting that another game engine isnt rendering correctly with drivers x.xxx etc etc. Polygons all over the place, or random tearing, alpha tranparency issues etc. But yes even with the problems the ati cards are good and will be my next purchese, just wish they didnt have the driver history

its kinda funny, I see so many rave about the 5series from ATI yet at the same time this figure is almost doubled to those that have a nigthmere with driver support *still* Royal pain in the backside that ATI have still yet to produce stable enough drivers across the board, no good if it only runs on half the game engines on the market

Yes I play it and mobwars and a couple of others. Lets face it, its just electronic top trumps but it passes a few seconds between scans and jobs

I find 4od to be the worst out of them all, which is a royal pain as it clearly has the best content on it! Randomly, play will stop, the viuals will pause, buttons will disappear as you describe. Very rarely am I able to get through two episodes of somthing withour having to restart one. Iplayer runs flawlessly though, just wish there was some better stuff to catch up on the bbc

Indeed unreliable. It is useable to certain extents, for example it was good to be able to do an audit on a recent addition to ours for food tech and to be able to see kids accessing it outside of school to get the latest menu's/recipes... but god knows how utterly 'pished' if they are when they get the 'uniservity has encountered an error' page for 10mins+ at a time.

I ended up copying an OEM home premium disc and changing the config to ask me which version to install. Had Win7 Pro 64 installed a few weeks now and really really really happy with it. CS3 suite installed and runs no problems in PS and Prem, COD4 installed and patched ok, FSX runs beautifully with no permisison errors on addon scenery folders and all my other drives are recongnised and the permissions have been granted to access the other drives, esp the one that is still apotential bootable XP install on D:

Depends on my mood really, forexam ple when I skate (inline) I like some 'banging' dance type music to keep me pumped and commited to each trick, as not commital causes too much injury. Nope, the disc has a warning about udf file system? A test laptop and this dekstop will not boot from the disc am going bloody insane, time to try again Grrrrrr

yes, but the error comes from the end of unpacking the files. Yet ive still got an expanded setup folder of 3.01 GB (3,239,836,668 bytes). Ill give it a go and make an iso out of this to try when I get home.

I am having a nightmere getting this thing, each time I try to create the expanded directory i get an error at some point along the way. Is there any chance anyone would like to send me the files on disc or an iso of the win7 pro 64bit. Ive tried at home and now here whilst Ive been busy around the school left the file downloading and it didnt work then tried again and it still says theres an error right at the end. Somthing about not having permission to write to that folder??? Its my c:\ root btw so all should be fine. Any ideas or have I missed somthing really really stupid?

Trouble with joomla one is that the header takes up half the screen at a typical school res! The new one is simple and straight forward and 'fits' much better. However the menu order is a bit on the didgy and could be looked at.

What amazes me is the lack of not ICT back up plans in case things do go wrong. I mean some teachers just completly fall apart. I'm sure many of them like me use to use pen and paper more that screen and keyboard yet they have no idea! I think common practice should be the plan lessons with the knowledge things could go wrong and at least have thought about what to do if tht powerpoint wonts play or the net goes down.

The issue with the computer mis-use act and other such laws is interesting since no doubt the student is a minor and the legal guardian the parent has given permission which I suppose in the eyes of the law is the same as the student giving permission what with them being under a certain age. Bit of a grey area for education no doubt. I know that our AUP + net permission forms are signed by student AND parent.

Our clans runs aquite a few severs of the high grade qaulity hence the price, for all the bells and whistles. Anyway there is an online petition going around that has shall we say become rather popular! The numbers signing this thing in the short amount of time it was open in the early hours was crazy.
