We use it,.. just don't though would be my recommendation. We are currently looking else were for a system that appeals to the teachers and students alike. We recently found one good point about uniservity and that is the quiz/survey system is quite good. Unfortunatly you still regulary get timeouts and during a recent survey I have had to deal with a number of users who are having to constently refresh due to 'uniservity has encountered an error please refresh'. Using basic html and creativity with the custom and hidden folders you can create some nice looking pages but this is somewhat more for the advanced user and require some nice graphics, being a photoshop power user the graphics part was easy for myself. The general over simplification of the system as a whole however I've found is enough to drive not only me (techie) but the teachers insane. As a basic, basic system its not too bad depending on what you wish to do. Just dont expect anything amazing and certainly dont expect it to be quick,.. with one class using it for revision I must have nearly cut off suffolk from the www as the schools connection dropped to pre 14.4 days

I'm orginally from GY up the road. Some old school friends now teach at this new Oasis place. Apparently its had a boat load of money thrown in its general direction. If you apply and need to move I suggest outskirts of GY for ease of being just far enough away from work whilst being close to Grimsby town center etc etc.

RyburnMark what about ILP's? I know frog does the learning part winderfully but my worry is regarding the future and online ILP's.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes we have had RM and Frog in already but I ended up 50/50 as one seemed to be technically good (RM with sims connection and other ILP bits and bobs) whilst Frog seems to have a much better chance of simply being used, thanks to its modern GUI and also seems to be just better at the whole new media side of things thanks to the building blocks. ahhh decisions decisions

*Frog or RM's offering? Any one have any advice or warnings on these two offerings? We seem to be in a position to get one or the other but i'm just feeling a 50/50 feeling towards them both so need some advice to help swing me so I can advise those above. thanks, Lew-bob

I think a good idea may be to simply bang together a quick email/word document with direct links to the cLc Sucess tutorial pages? They have text and video tutorials that are aimed at teachers and they really are simple to follow. You will just want to make sure the user accounts have the correct permissions. cLc Success *** I would also suggets you find out how much space you have for uniservity as ive found the biggest question from teachers I recieve is re: how much space they have for uploading videos, podcasts etc. I am currently advising on moving away from uniservity for RM's offering or Frog, both of which seem to be far ahead of uniservity.

Still looking into that one dan. Thought that whilst I wait to be the 'designated' support person for uniservity at our school i'd ask around incase there are any hints-tips on how to go about it,... if it is at all possible!

Hello, Is anyone out there using large SCORM files on uniservity? Due to it being web based they only recommend small scorm files, but I have a large large large potential file and before I attempt to crash the internet in an experiment I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything re: this. The file is a revision based 'app' that includes all sorts of multi-media.
