aydee replied to robintech's topic in Cloud Services
Anyone heard anything? We are still getting this, and having to reset sign in cookies via Google admin to get it to work properly. -

Yes! One train, with the end point as Abbey Wood, which is what will appear on the timing boards/apps etc. BETT/The Excel Centre is at Customs House, so thats your get off point! The Elizabeth Line is the Tubes newest trainline, so its airconditioned and rather comfortable.

Yeah seems to be a temporary fix, at least for us. Issue has been happening for most of December too without a fix, so not hloding out hope tbh.

Because then you get a false confessions,... Its not that easy, especially when you dont know timings of the damage. We have started limiting different bathrooms to certian year groups, our site team are too stretched to check for damage more then once a day.

What kind of things are you printing? Our DT Deptartment has recently invested in 2 x Prusal XL's, but no one has used them at all this term, as the kids both dont have the software avaliable or the ideas on how to incorporate them into their work. I would love to be able to use them, mainly to just use the investment but im definatly an outsider to the 3D Printing world!

We are having a very few users reporting this, like maybe 4 in the last week. We found that clearing cookies seems to make it work again. Whether or not thats temporary im not sure. For one user it actually took 2 all-time cookie clears for some reason. -
Hi All, I am looking for spares for my Chromebooks, where do you get yours from? We are mainly looking for screens and battteries for HP CHromebook 11 G6's, but also for Lenovo and Dell CB's too. I have seen AJParts mentioned in another recent thread, which does the screens for a reasonable price, but I cant seem to find a place that can get me batteries that isnt ebay! Thanks!

Smoothwall MITM and Linux Mint
aydee replied to aydee's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Thank you Tom, seems to work a treat! -
Hi All, Anyone ever tried using Smoothwall & Mint together? I have never dabbled with Linux, but a 6th former (so BYOD, hence the MITM Certificate) is wanting to use it. We have managed to get the certificate installed, some websites like google etc work fine, but other sites are brought up as insecure HSTS error. I am unsure if its soley due to the OS, or if its something else. If i put the device in exceptions its fine, so in my mind its definitely Smoothwall doing it. Any ideas? TIA

IME, this is great looking and really satisfying to do, until you have to trace a cable back from patch panel to the switch! When it disappears, it becomes a nightmare to follow, especially if there are tight bends or a lot of cables together!

Do you mean Keystones? is in on the wall plates and in the patch panel? I prefer to use Keystones, way easier to sort out; i can put one on the end of each run in the cabinet, and then clip them into the patch panel one at a time, if i get the order wrong, i can just undo it ad move it around in seconds, rather than minutes.

Hi Guys, I am hoping there is a way to access a google slide that a student has made, maybe as admin or something? I can see it in vault, but as it is shared with several other students I wanted to try and use Version History to see who had typed what etc. Any ideas/insights would be greatly appreciated!

I guess its whatever you feel will be best for your situation. Either way will be time consuming, either checking web history reports, or quickly unblocking it when teachers inevitably forget to tell you they needed it for that lesson. In our situation, we have left it unblocked, but if i happen to see one come up when searching for other things i will block it, rather than going out to specifically hunt down the URL's.

If / When you get this working please can you let me know what the final setup is? I am curious to see if it would work for a personal project!

Help with Stange Display Port/HMDI issue
aydee replied to mdrabble's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
You might have sorted this by now, but just to add in my two cents on how I fixed a similar issue recently. We had new PC's in over the summer which were having issues with our projectors not working reliably. i had to unplug them and reboot the pc then plug them back in beforte they would display. We had it set up with the PC monitors with HDMI and the projectors with VGA. I have now changed the monitors over to DP, and the projectors over to HDMI; so that now both outputs being used are digital rather than one being Digital and one Analouge. This seems to have sorted my issues, so if you have the right adapter/cables it might be worth a try. -
can you point me to where this option is? not sure where abouts to find this to pre-add it!
-
Thanks! Yeah, we wanted to use app authentication as a stop gap before rolling out the physical usb-keys, but looks like it will have to wait.

Hi Guys, Not sure this ts the right place to post, but we are attempting to get all staff to setup 2FA for their Google accounts; but its setting up Google prompts as default over the authenticator app. This is an issue as it asks/prompts on the Chromebooks they might be logged into in another room, rather than using their mobile device in their hand! Do you know of any way to remove this? Either on a user level or an organisation level? Thank you!
