Some of our students do not follow the full curriculum. They have study periods in the school library whilst their peers continue with their lessons. Is it possible to create a lesson in Nova-T where students from different year groups could all access the library and appear on the SIMS register? We want to be able to use the cover facility in SIMS to cover the sessions - will this work without allocating a named teacher?

Our sixth-formers have study periods. These are added to the option blocks on the model in Nova -T and they appear on student timetables in SIMS. These sessions are not supervised, however they appear on the SIMS register. This means that students appear to be absent because they can't be marked in. If I remove the study periods from the model blocks on Nova-T what impact will this have?

I am trying to change the room allocated to a locked session. Is there a way I can do this without unpicking the timetable? (Image attached)

Hi. Having a few problems today. I worked my way through scheduling all of the bands (see pictures). I have added new members of staff. When I print off the overall timetable, the new staff have blank timetables and a lot of the KS3 lessons are missing. When I hover over the bands - I have a 'block not built' message. Have I missed a step somewhere?

[sims] NOVA-T - Scheduling a class with students in both Y12 and Y13
DavidS posted a topic in MIS Systems
Hi, I need to create an Art class which contains Year 12 and Year 13 students taught by the same teacher. The class is in one of the option blocks. How do I do this without there appearing to be a clash when I try to schedule it? Thanks -
Hi I am constructing next year's timetable in NOVA T. I have transferred over continuing classes in Y11 and Y13. A member of staff is leaving and I am trying to replace her with another member of staff when allocating classes. When I try to remove the member of staff by holding down Ctrl and right-clicking, I get the following pop up: 'Cluster has locked sessions-attribute cannot be removed' - What can I do about this? Thanks

We attempted to organise the register through Lesson Monitor to show as am and pm. The registration slot has now disappeared, subsuming the am and pm tutor group registers into the first anfdfourth lessons of the day. How do we get back to Lesson Monitor showing am and pm as separate slots? I have reapplied the timetable from NOVA-T but it has made no difference.

We have an A level subject which is on the timetable but it is no longer running because students have withdrawn. How do I fix this on NOVA - T? Thanks

Moving a single lesson for one subject within a block.

Hi A bit stumped by this one. Sport Science is in an options block on SIMS. However, for one of their lessons the staff member and students want to move that lesson to another point in the day. How can you move a single lesson for a single subject within a block and keep all of the other lessons as they are? Thanks

If I make simple changes in NOVA T - changing Non-contact of meeting times, for example - do I need to export these to SIMS for them to work or is this done automatically? If I need to export these - is this via SQL or just reapplying the timetable? Thanks

Hi - have used NOVA T to block meetings on the timetable using NCC tab. Have assigned staff and pressed 'Assign' on toolbar. When I look at the timetable in NOVA T the meeting is allocated but it does not show on the SIMS timetable. What am I doing wrong?
