  1. Hi there noelmm! PaperCutter Brenda here. Andy_b called it! 1. In the admin interface go to Users.2. In the right-hand menu, select “Bulk User Actions3. Select the group with the users you wish to adjust.4. Adjust the setting “Change account selection setting” to “Select shared accounts from a list”.5. Click apply and the setting will be updated for all users in the group. If you can't see the group in the list:1. Go to groups.2. Click add/remove groups.3. All groups from your directory will be listed in the left hand list. Move the ones needed to the right hand side, and apply. Hope that helps! And if you ever need direct assistance, feel free to reach out to [email protected].
  2. Hi there EliteCommander, PaperCutter Brenda here! I chatted with our Supporties and they recommend you dedicate an “emergency printer” on the print server that the responsible staff member(s) have access to using the existing printer share method of the organization. You can use this printer explicitly for this purpose and make a change to the print provider config file to exclude this printer from PaperCut's tracking and control. https://www.papercut.com/support/resources/manuals/ng-mf/applicationserver/topics/printer-add-remove-printer.htmlThe result being that any jobs sent to this queue will be ignored by PaperCut, and jobs will output immediately. The important thing to note is that by ‘ignore printer’ we only mean ignore the print queue. Any other print queues pointed at the actual physical MF/copier/printer would not be affected. Also it would need to be a queue pointed at the IP of the printer. Hope that helps and if you need any further guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]! Happy weekend!

  4. Hi there Marione97! PaperCutter Brenda here. I checked with our Supporties real quickly and they said if you want, you could use the inputs.job.clientMachineOrIP - this should be a good way of telling if the server is the one that submitted the job. Hope that helps!
  5. Happy Wednesday Tom! At this point I'd recommend you reach out to your reseller or Authorized Partner for support. If they're unable to help, you can always contact [email protected] as well. Thanks and best of luck!
  6. Should just be a couple minutes. You could try restarting the server, or the PaperCut services, to force an update.
  7. Hi there Tom, PaperCutter Brenda here! PaperCut must have detected the printers at some point, and if the old print server was taken offline or the old print queues were deleted, then these printers would still exist in PaperCut. You could try deleting one of the printers, then if it reappears in PaperCut after a few minutes, that means that printer still exists on a print server somewhere. Here's how to delete a printer: https://www.papercut.com/support/resources/manuals/ng-mf/applicationserver/topics/printer-add-remove-printer.html Hope that helps!
  8. Hi there - PaperCutter Brenda here! We've got an article that goes into troubleshooting the pop-up client here: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/UserClientPopupAndNotificationIssues I've not heard of any problems specifically with Google Docs, so probably best to raise a ticket with your reseller or our support team at [email protected] to get it sorted. Hope that helps!
  9. Hi there - PaperCutter Brenda here! We've got a lengthy article that goes into troubleshooting the client: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/UserClientPopupAndNotificationIssues If you need additional assistance, you can always reach out to our team at [email protected] - would love to help!
  10. Hi there BFCIT! skyline_17 is correct: your license will continue to work after expiration, you just won't be able to update the software or access technical support until renewing your Maintenance & Support (M&S). So rest at ease, all will be fine! [h=3][/h] If you need further help acquiring M&S, please reach out to our customer care team to get in touch with a different reseller here: https://support.papercut.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=71366
  11. Hi there Rob! Unfortunately it looks like the answer at this time is "no update." So unsure of a specific ETA.
  12. Good question! Let me run it by our team and get back with you. Hang tight!
  13. Hi Rob! There are actually two open requests for OAuth support of Email to Print – with O365 and Google (the O365 one is being actively worked on as we type!). Unless you really don’t want to use basic auth (which is a valid stance to take), you can contact MS to have basic auth re-enabled on your tenant so you can continue using E2P with PaperCut. There is already an “official” line here if it helps: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/EmailBasicAuthenticationChanges#next-steps "If you are using the Email to Print feature, at this time you will need to continue to use basic auth with MS and Google. We are looking at making changes in future releases which will allow customers to use Email to Print without needing to rely on basic auth. As an alternative for Mobile printing, you can also check out our Mobility Print product which lets you print from macOS, Windows, Android, iOS and Chromebooks." That page also has updated timelines for MS and Google turning basic auth off completely here: Note that due to COVID-19 there were delays in these plans. Microsoft published a September 2021 update announcing a new timeline for deprecating basic auth aiming for an October 2022 milestone (but with early 2022 testing happening from the Microsoft side). This link also includes an FAQ section from Microsoft which is worth reviewing for customers impacted by this. Note that due to COVID-19 there were delays in these plans and Google has announced that this will be delayed until further notice.
  14. Hi there - PaperCutter Brenda here. PaperCut MF and Hive can both calculate toner usage, but unfortunately not broken down per print job. Check out these resources for more insight:https://www.papercut.com/support/resources/manuals/ng-mf/applicationserver/topics/printer-toner-levels.htmlhttps://www.papercut.com/help/manuals/pocket-hive/features-in-detail/make-printing-easy/administration-tools/

  16. Hi there k-strider! PaperCutter Brenda here. I don't have much advice to pass on at the moment, just some comfort in knowing our dev team is aware of this and working on it! Please stay tuned . . .
  17. Hi there! Quick chime in: PaperCut is working on this fix ahead of Microsoft's deadline. Rest at ease and stay tuned!
  18. Hi there all! Our recommendation to PaperCut customers is to run Mobility Print on their print server. With Mobility Print you share a link to your users and they follow a few steps to get up and running. Mobility Print is free to download and use: https://www.papercut.com/products/free-software/mobility-print/ If you have a managed environment, and you want to deploy printers to users without them having to follow any steps, then you can use Print Deploy to push out the Mobility Print printers. You can also push custom drivers with Print Deploy. Print Deploy is part of PaperCut NG/MF. https://www.papercut.com/products/do-more/print-deploy/ Out of the box you can deploy an unlimited amount of printers to an unlimited amount of users. If you want to configure multiple zones, then there is an additional license cost. You can also choose to use Print Deploy to push out Serverless Printers. So where users print directly to printers without a print server.
  19. Hi there! We've heard this is a struggle and have a current workaround to hopefully resolve the issue for now. Check out this Print Nightmare KB: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/PrintNightmareCVE2021
