Hi, We have three new eaton power supplies arriving next week (our old ones are way out of warranty so basically got told to do a full replace). One ups is repacing our backup server which is fine. The other 2 are going into our main server cabinet, i had a look today and realised 4 of the ports wasn't being used but they were plugged in across the ups's. We have a dell vtrx with 4 power supplies in it, some other server which is on but don't know what its used for. Would you recommend i keep the current setup with 2 UPS in one cabinet or put one in the server cabinet and one in the other cabinet? (the other cabinet has our main aruba switch and our nvr) The new ups are EATON 5SC 2200VA TOWER / RACK 2U UPS Thanks

we use these https://www.wearesync.co.uk but we had to set up ASM first and then they set up jamf for us (we had a engineer come in which we paid for but we had like 70 ipads then and they set up all our profiles)

Its 10x easier if you have an MDM soultion, we tried with 2 ipads without one at first and it just didn't work that well. Who are you getting your ipads from? We use a company and they also work with Jamf as well

It's funny when they put in the start date wrong so then staff are in but no account generated and of course its IT's fault

I tried that with our cctv server (just out of curiosity) , it had a red exclamation mark next to it and wouldn't let me save

our accounts are automatically created on the day they started but they always want the usernames creating earlier for new staff days or if they need them in early so they've learnt that we can't push them through early so they put the start date earlier so they can access them before they start, we just end the details to HR and leave it as that

Hi, Not fully familar with vm esxi (i've only really done hard drive creations and upgrading ram and adding extra cores) One of our drives on our sims server is starting to fill up, will probably need expanding. On the list of drives for that VM, its the 2nd one in the list. Would it be fine just to turn the server off, increase the size then fire it back up? It's just a data drive, doesn't contain the OS etc. Or will i need to do it some other way? Thanks

Jamf would be the best bet, you can easily add more in the future but all MDMs will generally cost (even with a small amount of devices) We got 2 initally before we got a management thing and they never really got used but once we had jamf then they got used

It's because we're on an intune network so we don't have any pcs on AD (its all cloud rubbish) so thats why we have to pull the update from the server once the server has updated. It's a pain because the clients wont update until you log in We use the solus to upgrade the servers then the clients pull the update from the sims server and patches we do from solous anyway Anyway update went fairly well, had to do it twice

Hi, It's my first time i'll be pushing out a sims update (End of the day tomorrow), our network is slightly different where solus updates the server and some other servers then a batch file on the sims server copies it in an update folder then all the pcs copy it from that folder to the local sims folder when they log in. Has anyone got any tips? I know how to download/deploy. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or things to look out for (such as how long they generally take etc) Also will be doing a patch straight after hopefully it goes well but if not, i have a strike day to do it manually

We just had a profile on jamf made for exams, even if you swap betwen day to day profile and the exams profiles, all the files stay there (from day to day profile and Exams profile) so we've put an order in for about 15 ipads to shy away from using dedicated computers

we just got our quote - 92 aps, bunch of aruba switches and fibre runs and network points for the aps, this is to boost what we already had

We use Jamf, been on it for a year now and its been great, not had any issues with it and the find my ipad in it is useful as hey are loosing them alot

Just tried it on mine at home but it tells you everything until the preparing windows (see screenshot below) I had a meeting last week and raised it at the meeting anyway so will see what the outcome is

Hi, Just wondering what general login speeds do you get with intune? Ours seem to be really slow (on the "please wait" screen in windows 10) we've had it before when teachers have been on that screen for 10+mins and you press ctrl alt del then esc and it instantly logs on. But most times its quicker and the 2nd time is obviously quicker than the first log on time but it still seems above 4 mins. I am assuming this isn't normal and i don't think its related to the internet. Something seems to be taking a while on the please wait screen but we can't find what it is. Also they do all have ssds in them
