  1. Hi On occasion, some ActivBoard 300 series 78" with firmware 8.04 build 4 may have the pen work initially, but stop working when you open the likes of Chrome browser. This will then revert the firmware to a 8.04 build 0. In these instances, you can upgrade the firmware to 8.10 to resolve this issue, but only once you have rebooted and have the firmware showing correctly again (8.04 build 4). Alternatively, there is now a HID firmware (8.12.4) that does not rely on the ActivDriver to be used and will be treated as a HID device. This will get around any of the BSOD issues you may have experienced. The unsupported driver (5.18.16) should be used if you're using older generation of ActivBoards such as 1st and 2nd Generation where HID firmware was not possible. Please note you'll need to upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 then to 8.12 for this to work correctly. Instructions can be found here: https://support.prometheanworld.com/s/article/1779?language=en_US#thirdgen Thanks Adam
  2. Your purchase of Promethean hardware will entitle you to install ActivInspire on 2 computers, the license stipulates that this can be used for one computer being used with the ActivBoard/ActivPanel and one for another computer for preparation use. If you are to use third party hardware, then you would not be licensed to use the ActivInspire software. Any support with ActivInspire being used on third party hardware would also not be provided as it is designed and optimised to be used with Promethean hardware. If you had purchased a site license, you would have received documentation for what you are entitled to (and for how many computers). The EULA can be found within ActivInspire under Help>About.
  3. Hi, I'd recommend getting in touch with Promethean support directly to get this issue addressed for you and the 2 clients. Many thanks Adam
  4. Hi Titch, Promethean ActivPanels can be managed by using the Radix Viso MDM. I'd recommend contacting your sales rep whom you purchased the ActivPanels from to enquire if this is available in your region. Thanks
  5. @titch, This isn't possible to name the sources on the ActivPanels. If you contact Promethean Support directly, they can put in an enhancement request for you so this can be passed on to Promethean product development team for review. Thanks
  6. @titch, I guess this would come down to personal preference, though I would probably say its easier and quicker to stick to the built in ActivPanel Android OS to get familiar with the new equipment for the teachers.
  7. @titch, Follow the PDF which will help with your issue to open up the Settings. The PDF is a guide of how to do this, so you'll need to follow in reverse Adam
  8. Hi IGB, There's no bulk conversation that ActivInspire can do for converting the SMART Notebook files. Is it possible to get the teachers to help and convert these files as and when they use the ActivInspire software in a generic shared location on the network? Adam
  9. Hi Usually with newer computers they have different chipsets, more so USB 3 chipsets which as per achedgy, are a little more aggressive with power savings of certain usb chipsets. The ActivBoards were supplied with 5 meter USB 2 cables, sometimes in the form of a 3m and 2m depending on the type of system that was being installed at the time. If its just purely wallmounted, it's probably 5m in length. With USB 3 devices/chipsets, this only supports up to 3m in length as USB 2 was 5m. Shorter, direct (if not already) USB cables should resolve this issue. If USB 3 chipsets are in use, you could try running the ActivBoards USB cable to a USB 2.0 hub and seeing if this holds a more stable connection. I hope this helps.
  10. Hi You can download the MSI version of the resource pack from here: https://inspire.activsoftware.co.uk/resource_pack/ActivInspireMainRes_ENU.msi This is direct from article 1406: https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/1406/ The main resource pack is separate to the core resource pack that is part of the network installation and contains more additional content. It's been recently updated so that it's removed any of the old Flash content due to this being unsupported and ActivInspire 2.21 has addressed this too. I hope this helps
  11. This is part of the 'Professional edition' of ActivInspire, it sounds like you'll be using the 'Personal Edition'. You can find all the differences between the 2 version here: https://inspire.activsoftware.co.uk/support/ActivInspire_SS_0919v7_EN.pdf In order to upgrade, you'll need to have your license key (starts 0015 or 0016) and enter this under Help>About>Register.
  12. Hi Jobos, Do you find that your pen no longer works once you open a web browser? Or is it simply not working at all from turning on the PC? Its been noted a few times recently that those with 8.04 firmware and as soon as you launch a web browser such as Chrome, it stops working completely. We've seen that having 8.10 firmware helps resolve this. Thanks
  13. Hi, You'll be best to update to 8.10 firmware which should help with this issue. Though for the BSOD issues, you would need to update to 8.10 first, then 8.12b4 afterwards, see this article - https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/1779/
  14. Hi, You may be best asking Lynx/CleverTouch to see their available options in the Lynx5 software, though if you can export as a .IWB file (Common File Format), then ActivInspire can import this file type. You can also import PDF and PPT files into ActivInspire, so if you have options to export as those, you could try those methods. I hope that helps. Adam
  15. Hi, I'd agree with Chris, first steps would be to test the PSU with a known working one from another ActivBoard of the same model. I'd then go down the route of direct connections, different cables and a known working PC. Thanks, Adam
