Nano tape. I have used it to secure small computers to the back of display screens for digital signage. Use plenty and make sure you stick it in the correct place first time as it is a real pain to get back off.

+1 for CCT. Our Zero 88 failed a few years ago a few days before a show. CCT replaced it with a Showtec Showmaster 48 which serves our purpose and pupils found easier to use.

Have a word with Simon Hool at GeTech. We have had hundreds of Chromebooks from them and always a deal to be had. Chromebook 100e's have been reliable apart from two with keyboard failure after about a year that were repaired very quickly under warranty.

Regret that I have given up with the Fire tablets. The lack of Play Store was a real deal breaker. I know that they can have Play Store side loaded but this seems a bit like buying a diesel car and then trying to convert it to petrol! And the fact that Fire tablets are now no cheaper except when they sell off the old stock just before releasing a new model.

Whatever you buy, make sure they are digital. Whilst not absolutely encrypted, they cannot be easily listened into like an analogue radio. We have used Crystal Radio Systems Ltd. (http://www.twoway-radio.co.uk) for years and have always had good service. At present we have Vitai VDG-360 digital radios which work far better than the analogue ones we had before.

Money saved on not upgrading memory would go a long way to paying for the management licence. On reflection I probably would install SSDs for reliability and quick startup considering how cheap they are now.

Have you considered Chrome OS Flex? These computers are on the certified model list. They would not need a memory upgrade as 4Gb is plenty for ChromeOS. You would only need a small HDD although TBH the existing spinning rust would be OK. No software or anti-virus to buy. To mount SSDs without a caddy, use nano tape.

I used Monkeyjam many years ago to make some simple stop motion animations. Looks like it is still available.

I have screwed monitor stands to desks in just about every computer room that I have built (and that is quite a few). Countersunk Pozidriv screws with cup washers look the neatest. Create a drilling jig for the screw holes so that everything looks the same. Security TORX screws are available if you need a bit more resistance to unauthorised removal.

A jigsaw with a metal cutting blade will easily cut the aluminium alloy that a 747 is made from. Please remember to wear safety glasses and gloves when using power tools. The metal dust can come off quite hot when cutting. Cut edges can be very sharp. Clean up the sharp cut edges with a file afterwards. Masking tape over the metal can prevent any damage to the surface and provide a handy surface for marking out. A dust mask may be required as some paint dust will be released. Clean up well with a vacuum cleaner afterwards.

This is a fault known as creeping degradation. The individual mirrors on the DLP chip fail, either in the always on state or always off. Almost all of the Optoma projectors we had failed in this way. By contrast I have never had an Epson projector fail. Still have a lot of EB-X9s running faultlessly despise teachers efforts to ruin them by leaving them on all hours!
