Yes, but they are nothing to do with the company themselves, so not gouging. Sophos XG IMHO is one of the best solutions available all round and certainly better than netsweeper imo, particularly for performance. it is fully compliant with regards to reporting, however the issues are down to ease of doing so - Fastvue makes them just that little bit (a lot) easier certainly for DSLs who may not be particularly knowledgeable. It's not a lot of money; our Sophos XG330 with licensing and Fastvue on top still was cheaper than the "built in" solutions provided by many other ISPs including Smoothwall, netsweeper etc.

Yeah, again no training but never felt the need, and I do it reasonably properly. Particularly quick on numpads thanks to a past in data entry; back in the day I used to do 140wpm at 100% accuracy. These days it's probably closer to 90 and "accuracy? What's that?" Give me a touchscreen phone though and autocorrect just gives up, can't do it!

There are plenty enough proper USBC enabled laptops to do that - Lenovo, HP and Dell all do them. Personal preference are the Dells, I just love the latitudes.

Modern kit eliminates the worry for that. USB C "docks", one cable to rule them all, one cable to find them, one cable to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

Oh wow, that site is bloody awful. Not Tumblr (that isn't great) but that smartsocial thing. Head in sand stuff from start to finish. It's very indifferent to other similar sites such as pintrest, imgur, deviantart etc and shares the same sort of rules but all allow some degree of adult content - the ban isn't so much in hosting it but sharing it. Education should be used more than the banstick in this instance; there's a lot of good content on all these sites and blocking them all means all those lovely creative people are limited to the wonderful world of stock photography.

Our server running AzureADConnect keeps connecting to an old proxy (our old ISP's IP so either an old Lightspeed or Netsweeper box). I can't for the life of me find out where though. AzureAD Connect itself is all set up properly and working as it should, and I can find no reference to any proxies anywhere, on the service account it runs on, the local admin account or the local system account. TCPView shows it's definitely coming from microsoft.identity.health.ad sync.monitoring agent.startup but again I can't find any reason for this to be correct. Any hints?

Of course, but reality says different. I'm not exaggerating when I say a 1500 pupil school is getting between 1 and 2 dozen hits on it's website, all from google searches for specific information compared to 2 to 3 thousand facebook reach per week. This obviously will differ per district, per school, per county so mileage will vary. It pays to know your target audience.

One thing to consider is if you really need things like "latest news" on a website. Comparing traffic and throughput on our website to our hits & interactions on social media, it's clear the website need be little more than an OFSTED box ticking exercise and google bot hive. We as a result concentrate on the latest and greatest news via social media where it actually gets attention, keep all the necessary important information on the website (term dates, policies, all the usual legal bumph, contact details etc) and rarely bother with anything newsy on it - this suits us extremely well and parents/children even better. People just don't go to school websites on purpose any more - they'll google a school, shout at Siri/Alexa/Bimble/whatever to ask for when XYZ school is open or what is their email address or phone number and that's it. The only time that's any different is around open evenings for prospective parents.

I'm still working on getting this site and all traces of it removed. His parents are now listed as directors also.

If you really must use budget for server then the cheapest you should ever consider are the samsung enterprise drives. It's just not worth the risk. RAID 1. No need to overcomplicate

So far everything above going on about MyQ seems to be like they've never actually seen or used Papercut. They'd have to work VERY hard to beat papercut for sure, and 80 device deployments in 12 hours isn't a positive selling point - that's an hour's work by anyone elses standards!

And they may well have done, but perhaps shouldn't have done so without the IT team's prior support and involvement. "We've bought this software, it only works on Macs, so we expect a suite of Macs to suddenly appear". It doesn't and shouldn't work like that.
