Schools Broadband – B281
Schools Broadband is pleased to announce their work in conjunction with the Department for Education and the Department for Digital Culture, Media and Sport, on a pilot scheme to deliver faster broadband to schools.
Schools who do not have a Leased Line and are in areas where a lack of fibre infrastructure means their speeds fall below 30Mbps, will be relieved to hear that the new Ultrafast/FTTP technologies being deployed as part of the pilot scheme, will deliver speeds up to 300Mbps – ten times faster than existing speeds.
An average of £30k has been made available for each school that fits the above criteria, to cover the cost of the fibre installation. It is estimated there are upwards of 2000 schools who will benefit.
Phase one of the successful pilot scheme is nearing completion, and phase two should be launching in April 2019, where hundreds more schools will be eligible to join.
To find out if your school is eligible, visit us at BETT on stand B281 – or call 01133 222 333 (Option 3) or email [email protected].
Schools Broadband has been providing schools and MATs with specialist broadband, WANs, web filtering and security for over ten years. Trusted by over 1500 schools nation-wide, their £500,000 investment in their hosted Netsweeper filtering platform, means, after over-coming some initial teething problems, their service is now one of the most reliable and future-ready in the industry.
Providing self-managed and fully managed services, they have won multiple ISPA awards for the fact they deliver some of the world’s best filtering and security technology, in a format that is easy for schools to implement and manage.
Schools Broadband provides a fully managed service, as well as Leased Lines, Private WANs and VoIP phones, making it possible for schools to access the very latest tech solutions at a realistic price.

Our Approach for BETT 2019
We have noticed a requirement for better access control and lockdown technologies in schools and colleges, to protect staff and students and comply with some of the latest standards.
The trouble with a lot of access control and lockdown technologies is a lack of integration. The end result is schools and colleges managing a number of different solutions individually.
At Net-Ctrl our focus is on integration. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to protect those on your site(s) and that is why this year we are expanding our access control and lockdown integration partners that will be on show. We will be demonstrating integration between access control, intruder alarms, fire detection, wireless door handles and IP speaker solutions, and also IP-CCTV.
In addition, we will be extending our security message to the network and endpoint with Palo Alto Networks. They have a highly advanced and secure portfolio to keep your users, and your site, protected for a more secure everywhere.
We will also have Ruckus on our stand. Ruckus is leading the way in wired and wireless technology to keep your users connected whatever the environment and circumstances. Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi and wired technology redefines what’s possible in network performance with flexibility, reliability and affordability
We invite you all to come and see us at BETT 2019, we will have a number of demonstrations running and product experts on hand. We’re really excited for BETT 2019. Make sure you pay us a visit and stop by the Net-Ctrl stand – C61.
