Hello all,

I want to show all icons - including hidden ones (like Anti Virus and lan school) in the notification area. Ideally via a GPO or reghack.. anyone got an idea?

Thanks

There you go mate, im afraid there is no group policy setting for this. Best but is to build a profile with this change

So go to regedit, change the value to 0 and export it to a registry file and your all done

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\E nableAutoTray

If EnableAutoTray = 0 then all icons in the notification area (system tray) are visible. Otherwise some might be hidden.

= 1 means is enabled which you don't want

It's worth deploying group policy preferences (unless they are built in like 7) as it makes reg changes like this very easy without having to create any adm/admx templates.
