Well I don't want to get in to an arguement about anything but without knowing our contract details with them (business managers arrangement) I think it unfair to right them off due to using compatibles. For all I know we might of signed a contract that didn't specify originals or was agreed that to meet a price point they might supply compatibles on occasion. After looking at my stock I would say 85% of it is original.

It's the not registering as empty that's annoying me. I wont change them until they are empty...which is an issue if the toner doesn't know its empty....

We see that with our remanufactured inkjet cartridges - the printer doesn't know the ink levels, so reports them as empty.

Engineer came out today. He's coming back....with original toners!

Sounds like a good solution to me! I hope he will also bring an apology too.

whenever I get prices for toners I get a "remanufactured" and an original price. So far I have got the refill everyime. These are all HPlaser toner cartridges and I have only had one problem in the course of two years where the "compatible" (IE fake, as opposed to refilled) toner has the wrong sort of attachment so the printer was unable to spin the drum and hence wouldn't print.

Pointed it out to our supplier who replaced them with working models.

We now use both colour and black remanufactured toners and I wouldn't hesitate to order more. They work out around 30-40% cheaper for us.

Had exactly the same as @Little-Miss with all of our compatible colour brother toners.

Now we buy all original manufacturer toners for all our colour printers, and use compatible for the mono printers only. We found compatible colour toners to be a false economy.

Truth is some refills work others don't !

Unlike other printers the Kyocera can actually operate without a chip at all .( you just lose the toner level gauge )

The print quality issues are solely down to toner quality.

We run these colour printers reliably and very cheaply !!

ps we have the service manuals if you need any help with service codes !!! [email protected]
