tdh1987 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) Hi We've recently bought 30 perpetual licences for ActivEngage. We're happy that it works as we intended it to do on our iPads however we now want to get it work on our curriculum laptops. We use Windows 7 professional within a Windows Server 2008R2 Active Directory environment. I've successfully managed to push out ActivInspire to over 70 teacher laptops using group policy but I'm having zero success using the same technique for ActivEngage. Any ideas? Thanks Tom Edited January 29, 2013 by tdh1987
phillyrovers Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Hello tdh1987, In order to achieve a "roll out" of the ActivEngage server you will need the msi installer. To get access to this from the installer you will need to go to "Start" then type run. when the Run command box appears drag the installer icon into the box. At the end of the string do a space then /a so for example: C:\Users\*USER*\Desktop\ActivEngage_Server_v20.07.3.exe /a This will then start the installer off in administrative mode and will ask you what network location you would like the required installation files to be placed in order to roll this out accross your network. Hope this helps. Thank you
phillyrovers Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Hello tdh1987, The same process also works for the client installer as well. Thank you
tdh1987 Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 I keep receiving this error message :/
phillyrovers Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi tdh1987, This error is normally attributed to a corrupt installation file, or access problems to the location that you have selected. Sometimes virus scanners and firewalls may also cause this issue as well, especially if one is running on the server location you have selected. I have tested this this morning with the file you are using so I know this works, if you are still struggling it might be worth contacting the Promethean support team via PrometheanKB. Thank you

Thank you Hi I've tried to disable my AV, that didn't work. I've copied the exe to my C: drive and I'm trying to extract the files to my C:\ drive, that didn't work. I've tried to do it on another pc, a Windows XP machine with no AV, still doesn't work. Same error message each time. What am I doing wrong?
tdh1987 Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 I forgot to mention I've redownloaded the Exe from Promethean too.
phillyrovers Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Hi tdh1987, After some further testing it does appear that you have found a bug. I will raise this with our development team for them to have a look at. In the meantime the only way to install this product would be to install the .exe on each machine. Apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you 1
tdh1987 Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Thanks for getting back to me. I'll keep an eye out for latest version.
