HaleStorm Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 @Rawns it doesn't pick up ARMA as being installed even if I point DayZ commander at the directory which is annoying, I've seen some instructions on how to do it manually and it doesn't seem too hard, just some copying file around and installing a manual patch to ARMA2 itself
Rawns Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 @Rawns it doesn't pick up ARMA as being installed even if I point DayZ commander at the directory which is annoying, I've seen some instructions on how to do it manually and it doesn't seem too hard, just some copying file around and installing a manual patch to ARMA2 itself I don;t have ARMA2 in Steam so can;t really advise, but found this on the DayZ Commander FAQ page: I installed Arma2 with Steam, how do I get the overlay so I can talk with my friends? - Under settings, check the "Launch with steam" option - To be sure that Steam uses the beta version of Arma2OA, you must copy your Arma2OA Beta executable over the original executable. DZC can do this for you, by checking the "Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta" setting, or if you feel more comfortable, you can do this manually.

Hawkeyez Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Yep...decided it would be cool to break a leg... while being attracted to a Army of Z's. Didn't have kit to heal, only bandages, so was a gruesome death. Server rebooted just as I jumped in a car :-( grr

Unfortunately it escalated and they started accusing me of cheating and warping to them with full gear (all rubbish of course!) In the end, we planted a satchel charge on the chopper and blew it to hell!

Tuesday, it was actually Carbon who did the killing! They also claimed that where we were at the North East airfield, no zombies had spawned which is "IMPOSSIBLE!" they claim. It's not impossible if you play pro and hug the coastline and the trees to avoid spawning zeds which is exactly what we did! And both times Tues and Yesterday, it was them who just bombed in full speed in a chopper with no stealth or cunning. They just went gun ho which is bound to draw attention, and it did! If you were in a vehicle, you should spawn in by it. Back in the day, if you were caught by a reboot whilst in a vehicle, you spawned back in stuck in the ground, and the only way of getting out was hoping a vehicle was close enough to you to get into!!!

We did have a chopper but my lust for using a satchel charge was greater then the practicalities of chopper use.

HaleStorm Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Seems I was premature with the "Woo" everytime i joined any server my Machine did a full on "im not happy" lockup...turns out ARMA2 does not like the USB3.0 controller on my motherboard, but it took me 2 hours to figure that out. However I got it going and working and all up to date ready to go at about 12:30 last night so hopefully I should be on over the weekend
