I found a boat by the old brick works....but it had no fuel :(

 

I remember on my very first playthrough I found a fully-working boat (max. fuel, all green.) I was beyond excited... then I realised it was beached :( selfish players!!

I do however now also have a Jerry Can, so I could refuel the boat as it was full when I found it too :) but I think i am a bit far from the boat now

 

There is a boat (all green) by NW airfield but I had no fuel for it. Problem with the boat is its visible from air all the time, so if moored by the base, it alerts people. Only good for travelling to the NE island quickly

TBH I dont even know where I am on the map atm, no compass found yet and I've not been online at sunrise/sunset to get an East or West position

 

use map to put a personal waypoint somewhere, see how far away it is. make another one, see if its closer. repeat until you are a few hundred meters out and you have an approx location. or just look at the location when you login :p

ahh, last time i logged in I was near Santa Maria church, but i couldnt find it on the map, im close to what looks to be an airfield now, so maybe I can figure out which one Im at using waypoints

Clouds always travel East I believe, so keep an eye on them, I don't think you'll see a sunrise/sunset on this server as it's a day only server.

But +1 to Dope's waypoint spamming method, it's what I use.

So if i can figure out where I am, will you guys come and pick me up?

we dont really have a vehicle to take on the road at the mo. all cars are stocked up. need to get another heli and stop rawns from nuking it first.

The lats 2 choppers were NOT my fault!!! One was a reboot and the other was a game crash!

 

I'll take the rap for the SUV though. :)

you have been found guilty of dangerous and reckless driving and are banned from operating any motor vehicle until you have passed a DayZ driving test. thank you for your co-operation.

He missed 6 times! I would have had him when I turned around, but he was dead as I got to about 160 degrees, another 20 and there would have been an M107 round between the eyes.

 

To be honest though, Rawns probably IS our best pilot.. I don't think I've seen anyone else land on one of the tower blocks safely.

Another Nam scene? Easy.

 

That bit from Platoon, only it's 6 of us with sniper / AR combos opening fire on one zombie that none of us saw.

 

Or in my case, firing on one at the supermarket when we are trying to be stealth (last night doh)
