pcstru Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 It's given a whole new meaning to dodgy food giving you the trots.
tmcd35 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I'm upset they took the horse burgers off the shelf before I could try one
5tu Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Horses in burgers in Tesco, what next..? My Lidl pony? 2
Rawns Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I looked in the freezer last night to check on my burgers.... AND THEY'RE OFF!!!
Rawns Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 On a more normal note, has anyone actually tried horse?
SteveBentley Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I went to Tescos and bought a bottle of Bacardi, a bottle of Lamb's and some burgers. So that's White Rum, Navy Rum and Red Rum. The burgers are really low in fat. But surprisingly high in Shergar.
arwen Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) On a more normal note, has anyone actually tried horse? I think I have... Tasted a lot like venison if I remember right. Edited January 17, 2013 by arwen
synaesthesia Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Seen *all* of the puns so won't join in there. My favourite was Ebuyer's facebook advertising saying: "After having Tesco burgers did you feel a little horse? So why not make your own with the Elgento E27008 Burger Maker for only £13.49" Personally, I like horse. It's a nice meat.
HaleStorm Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Horse meat it quite nice, I had a piece in Southern France and remember it being alot like Venison

teejay Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 You can buy it here Buy Horse burgers online UK for sale I love this bit on their page - IMPORTANT NOTICE: All of our horse burgers contain horse meat, we do not add beef to our horse burgers.
tmcd35 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Buy Horse burgers online UK for sale Interesting site, they stock a far few meats I wouldn't mind trying. May become a semi-regular customer...
X-13 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Apart from the false advertising angle [if it's advertised as beef]... I'm not seeing a problem. Horse meat is edible. 2
rich_tech Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Tesco Burgers - Low in Fat, High in Shergar !
Andrew_C Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 New Veggie Burgers - made from 100% Uniquorn. 1
TechMonkey Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 A friend runs a burger shop, hand made from a variety of meats, and quickly sent a message round on all his advertising channels "We got beef, we got chicken, we got buffalo, wild boar, kangaroo, crocodile, we got live stock, we got live stock BUT no horse I'm afraid you'll have to go to Iceland, Tesco, Aldi or Lidl for those bad boys" On a slightly different note, if you are in Brighton, do head to his place. Gorgeous it is.
X-13 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I just had a burger, like I do nearly every day [/TrueStory]... All I could think about was this. They did taste different the past few days.
localzuk Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 As a somewhat 'ex' vegetarian, it doesn't bother me at all. If you're gonna eat animals, what difference does it make eating a cow compared to a horse? 2
SteveT Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Surely the main issue is being ignored here ...... they also contained pork. Rather more significant I think if you happened to be Muslim or Jewish!!!!!
X-13 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) right, neigh mare puns ive had enough A burger walks into a bar and orders a pint. The barman says "Can you repeat that, I didn't quite catch it." The burger replies "Sorry, I'm a bit horse." Surely the main issue is being ignored here ...... they also contained pork. Rather more significant I think if you happened to be Muslim or Jewish!!!!! It depends on whether it was stated to contain pork or not. If it was, it's not a problem. If you have special dietary requirements, YOU have to check these things. Edited January 17, 2013 by X-13
Rawns Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Surely the main issue is being ignored here ...... they also contained pork. Rather more significant I think if you happened to be Muslim or Jewish!!!!! Maybe if they were clever, they could reverse the stigma and advertise it as a gourmet 3 meat burger that was totally planned! Me wants! Edited January 17, 2013 by Rawns
