New wireless Solution

Hi All,

 

I am using Meru wireless kit and don't complain to the system at all. But, when we come to upgrade APs and license that is where the problem stated (I have around 70 APs). I heard that there is a wireless solution without APs just use areal like in short wave signals.

 

I have come a cross with Aerohive and that is not the solution I am looking for .

 

Very reliable and powerful one without APs just use wifi points covering 4,5 classrooms with thick walls.

 

Any help would be much appreciate.

Rukus would use a lot less wireless points due to the power of the APs

I think the solution you may have seen is Xirrus although not sure if it will do quite what you want.

 

I've been doing a lot of stuff with Meraki but it would probably require the same amount of AP's as Meru.

I don't know about a wireless solution with no ap's though they all have some sort of ap?

Another vote for Ruckus works well for us and a number of other schools in North Yorkshire have it (off the top of my head I can think of 5, with 3 of them being close to you) and report good things about it.

Another vote for ruckus. Got my kit, easy to setup and impressed with it even if i have only got 6 APs when i could do with 25 but thats budgets for you.

More Ruckus love here...just unboxed my nice new ZoneDirector 3000 today ahead of @Net-Ctrl installation at the end of the week. Removing an old Meru system... :-p

We have looked after countless projects in schools of all sizes and would be more than happy to asisst you with yours.

 

Alternatively we are at BETT next week on stand D55 and the guys mentioned above will all be there
