Managed print/copier toner delivery costs?

Hi All,

 

How much do your managed print/copier companys charge for toner delivery? we're being charged £10.20 per delivery by our photocopier company... thankfully its not coming from the IT budget!

 

is this normal? I tend to ensure I order at least 3 toners per order to get the most value but its much more than I'd pay for delivery from any other company - I had no input in choosing the supplier but will be asking potential managed print companies to detail their delivery costs in future.

Out managed Print service send them out for free via next-day courier (Konica Minolta) and Copytec the people who supply our high capacity copiers do the same

we get free delivery, they remotely monitor our printers so we even don't need to place an order, as soon as we replace the toner the delivery arrive next day.

I've never come across one that charges delivery to be honest. I've dealt with at least 10 different copier companies during contract negotiations, and have dealt directly with 4 companies supplying us with services and none of them have ever charged or mentioned charging delivery.

 

Who is this company so I can avoid them?! It'd lead to hundreds of pounds in extra costs for us if we had to pay delivery.

Ours are free, if we want priority we can pay but there is no point as the normal ones are delivered next day.

Ours are all auto-ordered by our printers/copiers and its free delivery. Never heard of a copier company charging delivery for toner!

Ours are delivered free. They either send them by 2-day courier or an engineer drops them off on his way to other jobs, as the company is local.

Free here for ours on 2-3 day but its usually next day or if an engineer is coming from there office to us then they can bring it. The new kit all self-orders supplys as well which is great

free here, we use Konica Minolta too, ones have been replaced at the moment so dont have the email in them to auto order, but it is always next day on consumables for them, our other toner supplier is also free delivery on all orders.

Its interesting to see that no one else is paying, won't mention the supplier by name buy they're one of the big guys

 

I'm beginning to wonder whether one of our "helpful" admin staff have kicked up a fuss and asked for next day delivery on everything

 

Self install would be good - can't even trust the teachers to do it here without either spilling toner everywhere(& calling the supplier directly afterwards!) or using up all the toners without telling anyone then complaining when they haven't been ordered. I'd probably have better luck training some of the kids up to do it lol

Ours is free delivery, and auto-ordered.
