oxide54 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Hi who is using pc plugged into VOIP phone? any problems? also any recommendations for VOIP phones in general. looking at probably trixbox.
Geoff Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I use Polycom IP501/550's. They have a Ethernet pass through port and understand VLANS. I don't actually use the pass through port normally although I have a couple of places where I do. No problems.
jamesfed Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 We've got HP 4120s here (Lync 2010 VoIP) which have the second NIC for a PC and haven't had any issues on desktops and even a printer!
twin--turbo Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Use both scenarios without issue on our Cisco. Do check though that if you want Gbit to the desktop that the phone is 10/100/1000 compatible. Rob
glennda Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 As mentioned in the other thread yealinks. Cheapest i got them was 56quid for t20 and 79 for t28p from iddris.
FN-GM Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 We use Cisco Phones like this. The phone is on vlan 4 and the PC can we on any VLAN you specify. The config is done on the Cisco switch.
