1-on-1 Training and MCP Exam Prep?

Hi folks,

 

Anyone know of any training organisations that do 1-on-1 training combined with exam prep for MCPs?

 

I probably know 75% of what I need for the MCSE, so going through the MCSE would be a waste of time (I did an MCSA course 5 years ago).

 

Therefore I would much rather put the money towards 1-on-1 training for the bits I'm not sure of, along with the prep for the tough MCPs.

 

Do any organisations do this? (I'm on the Hampshire/Surrey border)

I've not had a chance to look at 2012 yet, but yes with a view to Windows Server. I don't know if the qualification requirements have changed much since 2003 days.

having looked at the course content it will have changed in so many ways since your old mcsa exams.

for example ip v6 , sstp/l2tp etc , directaccess and so on

 

I'm using the CBT Nuggets video training course to assist me - highly recommend it, either that or the Trainsignal ones just as good

Does that mean intensive 2-3 day training courses are too, like the ones offered by @Leeoakley (Neos IT) and @Millgate?

Just buy a book on it and give it a quick read through, it's what I when doing MCP stuff.

Generally, brain dumps are a list of Q&A's that commonly appear on the exams.

 

Technical training generally gives you skills, that you can take away and use when administering your environment. This should also give you the skill/ability to answer the MCSE questions, when combined with your working knowledge and self study.

 

Back to helping you with what you will need:

 

In order to top up your skills you would need to look at the qualifications you require (I'm assuming you'd be after the server qualification)

 

Exam Numbers 410, 411, 412, 413, 414

 

Areas of consideration:

 

This is on top of all the standard server admin, active directory knowledge plus changes.

 

Hyper V

Powershell

WDS

SCCM

RDS

 

There are other little area that you will pick up on as well.

 

I would advise you print/save all of the content and work your way through and highlight areas you are both strong and weak in, in terms of what you already know. Then come back to us for more advice......
