Restoring problems on backup (SIMS and Veritas)

Hi,

I don't know if anyone can help or shed some light on this,

 

Basically, someone has edited some data in Personnel 5 which needs to be restored for conversion to Personnel 7

 

However we have tried restoring the Star and System folders which is where we believe the personnel files are stored but when i try to restore it skips a load of files (this is restoring using Symantec Backup Exec 10.1), saying "skipped by user"

 

I've attached a text file which shows some of the files skipped.

Are they in use?

 

Make sure everyone has logged out of Launcher before restoring. Also in the old, old system manager there was a tool to release locked workstations or files or something like that.

 

I'm just about to start the conversion myself but so far have not had the patch to allow it to happen from Capita despite asking for it. My datacheck is now out of date and will have to be run again.

Have you tried re-directing the restore, and then manually copying the files into the correct location?
