Geoff Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Is DNS scavenging enabled? Are dynamic DNS updates working?
3s-gtech Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Yup, we had it when I found that DNS scavenging hadn't been turned on. Check your DNS settings - this may also be causing some other oddness around the place too!
scholes99 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 thank you very much to both of you for your help with this
mac_shinobi Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Once you have done the above use nslookup util to confirm that the hostname / computer name is resolving to the ip address that it should be and not someone elses computer.
scholes99 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Scavenge stale resource records is ticked, no-refresh interval is 1-day refresh interval is 1 hour enable automatic scavenging of stale records is ticked and 1 day
Psymon Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Does this happen on all machines or just yours? Could be an "ipconfig /flushdns" resolves your issue as the stale record is cached on your machine. If not, maybe a static record is in DNS that is causing your problems? "nslookup" is your friend.
