Server won't turn on

Hi all,

 

We have an Equiinet Cachepilot box and we turned off a while ago because the power was going out, but now it won't switch back on. I'm new working with these so I don't know if I'm turning it on wrong.

 

At the back has a switch and I flick it to on but it doesn't come on...

 

Any idea's would be gratefully received.

Depends which version you have but if its the box then yes the button is a switch on the back in an IDE card holder.

 

Since its a cache pilot I would choose this opertunity to throw it in the bin and upgrade to something like sophos or smoothwall

 

We use our cache pilot as a door stop these days, it really was that bad

But it would be good if anybody knows if I'm doing something silly because at my old school we reloaded it and used it as a file server.

I presume you've checked the fuse?

That didn't work either. But thank you both for the suggestions, if any of you have any more they would be gratefully received.

Nope. I gave up and put it in the stock room ready to be scrapped. Unless, anybody else has suggestions.

I wanted to try another PSU but the current one it has is low wattage and I didn't want to try another. In case it was too much power.

 

The Power switch works because I tried turning it on by using the screw driver over the pins on the mobo and that didn't work. So it could be death mobo.
