SMART Notebook 11 load times

Before I install this at school #3, has anyone got a fix for the painfully slow load times? If not, I'll stick with v10.

I think we found windows 7 was the cure for Version 11's ills.

Just started reading this and was hoping someone was going to post that they have a solution! A year on from this post and it's still V11 and it's still slow to load! Hopefully, someone has found a solution now!

Nope, still slow. Even on an i7 with an SSD it takes 40+ seconds to load up.

I can't quite believe that! Are you talking complete boot times, or the time just to load SmartNotebook 11?

We use Win 7 Enterprise, on i7s, with 4GB and an SSD, and Smart notebook 11 will load an empty notebook in about 10-12 seconds. If its a preprepared one, with lots of content, then it does take a little longer, but normally not much longer than 25 seconds. We have some win8 machines, and these seem a bit quicker if i'm honest.

Ok, I just tested it on my desktop here - i7 4770K, 16GB RAM, SSD. 25 seconds from clicking on Notebook icon to having the software ready for use, with a blank window.

Some of my problems MAY have been with HP bloatware. School didn't have EES at the time, so was manually uninstalling stuff before creating image. The same machines built from a clean install seem much better, but it's still not fast.

 

I say HP as similarly specced Dell machines didn't seem as bad.

That may explain why we don't seem to suffer. We use Dells USF with SSDs. Almost all are i5 @2.9Ghz, or better.

Resurrecting this thread, is anyone else experiencing delays opening Office applications (notably Word and Powerpoint) with Smart Ink installed? Running Windows 7 Enterprise x64 with Office Professional Plus 2010 x64.
