witch Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Just to point out in case you haven't read the thread - I'm not actually in favour of positive discrimination.. Unless of course it gets me a day on the edugeek stand...
CAM Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I am trying to persuade our only IT teacher left on staff to come along to BETT with me this year. It will be odd to visit a geek show at Excel without the anime crowd running around though.
X-13 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) I am trying to persuade our only IT teacher left on staff to come along to BETT with me this year. It will be odd to visit a geek show at Excel without the anime crowd running around though. Is it the same time? Jayzeus McChrist, I may have to drop into the Anime con if I come down. Le EDIT: Nope, different dates. MCM - 26 - 28 October BETT - Jan 30 - Feb 2 Edited October 17, 2012 by X-13
CAM Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Haha! Expo and BETT at the same time, I wish! It has been on at the same time as UK Top Model though, talk about a clashing crowd!
X-13 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I haven't been to MCM for about... 4 years. I got fed up of it. I never had anyone to go with.
Little-Miss Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Well, would anyone like a trip with me to Upper Gower Street so i can stalk....i mean see if a certain BBC show is being filmed....
X-13 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) Well, would anyone like a trip with me to Upper Gower Street so i can stalk....i mean see if a certain BBC show is being filmed.... I think I know what this certain show is. And I may be interested. [VAGUE ALL THE STATEMENTS!] Also, I think you'll find it's NORTH Gower street. Edited October 17, 2012 by X-13
Zoom7000 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Will be trying the Learning Technologies Show instead of BETT this time around. I wouldn't bother with the Learning Technologies Show. I went to it a few years back and it was nothing compared to BETT. Definitely recommend BETT over Learning Technologies any day.
Little-Miss Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Also, I think you'll find it's NORTH Gower street. I stand corrected...Upper is the address of somewhere else in London! I've merged the two....lol
X-13 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I stand corrected...Upper is the address of somewhere else in London! I've merged the two....lol That would be Darwin's house. And it doesn't exist any more. Upper Gower Road is not Gower Road.
Little-Miss Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Do i lose my fan girl license now? Le Edit: "It was earlier known as Upper Gower Street", i've got it from somewhere then....
X-13 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Do i lose my fan girl license now? Le Edit: "It was earlier known as Upper Gower Street", i've got it from somewhere then.... That was supposed to be "it is now" not "it is not"... I'm ill, I can't type properly. 1
north-ict Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Looks like I might have to go 2 days so the coordinators for juniors and the infants have my undivided attention on hand rather than share me on one day.
elsiegee40 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Looks like I might have to go 2 days so the coordinators for juniors and the infants have my undivided attention on hand rather than share me on one day. That sounds well organised. It's easier to supervise them and keep them under control individually!
north-ict Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 That sounds well organised. It's easier to supervise them and keep them under control individually! Yeah they both have different requirements for what they are looking for this Bett show so works out in the best interest that way. Due to it being closer to me than olympia is a bigger plus. *Realisation* Does that mean I can go to the edugeek stand twice and pick up 2 lanyard's ?
witch Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Looks like I might have to go 2 days so the coordinators for juniors and the infants have my undivided attention on hand rather than share me on one day. Oh I wish....I won't even be allowed to go once I dont suppose...
rad Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Bett at the end of Jan is going to seem odd. I will try and be there on the Friday as usual, will be good to see it at Excel. The floor plans not working on the iPad, is it one or two halls? Where are they doing the conferences?

Devontechie Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Any idea what stand is Edugeek this time?
witch Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 YAY!! It looks like I may be allowed to go on Friday and if I can find somewhere to rest my head, I may be able to stay for Sat as well!! The HT in both schools are hopefully going to share the train costs. I can't believe it - I'm in shock a little bit.... So.....As someone who works in junior and secondary up to year 8, what should I be looking at (tablets, windows 8 etc aside) This exhibition is seriously big and I can just see myself dashing about not actually taking anything in. I could do with some input as to the sorts of things that are likely to be do-able in the near future in my schools - both from a hardware and software point of view. Also any thoughts on ICT teaching and the sorts of things that would be good to look at would be very useful as well. Trying not to get TOO excited but I really thought I wasnt going to make it this year
X-13 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 It looks like I may be allowed to go on Friday Friday!? FFFUUUUUUU~ I forgot all about it. I'm not sure if I'm going.
CAM Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 If you can't get the time off work, come on the Saturday. It's what I have always done. Also I found a new place to eat when visiting for Expo in Autumn. Immediately opposite the steps is a glass covered restaurant called Elite Dining who open it to the public between functions. They do the best Indian I have ever had (if a little expensive). The Chinese in Custom House Hotel has also turned into a rather epic steak house!
JackCPickup Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Yeah first time. Got invited by our contracted technicians to drive down on the Saturday...not happy about missing out on Brian Cox's talk though Jack
tmcd35 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Can't go on a weekday Staffing problems mean I'm tied to the desk until Easter. I think I might just drive myself down on the Saturday, just for something to do! Also I found a new place to eat when visiting for Expo in Autumn.
