Thanks for that, I'll have to trawl through my Inbox for the bar-code. I remember printing it off a while ago, but it's disappeared somewhere in the office.

 

Not so sure about the scanning bit, I'll have to be really selective about the enquiries I make.......I don't want to be inundated with spam from all and sundry.

 

What about the Edugeek conference....when's that?

 

Don't worry about the barcode @Earthling . They'll email it to you another 10 times with advertising nearer the time :D

 

The Conference is held oop North and is an edugeek only do with invited speakers and exhibitors. It's MUCH smaller.

Already registered and will be down for the full week again for a variety of things. I was planning another facepaint Friday but the 2 LearnLive sessions I am involved with are both on Friday ... I think someone has an evil sense of humour!

Bring a Tiger to work Thursday? Doesn't have quite the same ring ... I also have my face done as part of the rich fringe experience that goes on at BETT ... but I'm not sure what is happening with things like Collabor8 4 Change and TeachMeet this year ...

Ooh, it's all of a quick 10 minute cable car ride for me, so glad it's moved to ExCeL ;)

I wonder how many techs you can fit in a 15" x 9" shed! Guess it depends if its standing or would I have to build bunks? Hammocks maybe? -_^

It's cool. You don't get that much spam.

 

Out of all the companies that scanned my badge, only a couple have sent me stuff. [One of which I only allowed to scan me because I wanted popcorn.]

 

 

I think I may put my job title as "GLaDOS wrangler" this year.

A job title that suggests you have no influence over school spending whatsoever can be very useful :D

 

On the other hand, when they used to have a lounge specially for NMs, a second badge with Network Manager as the title was also handy ;)

Yeah, I watched some of it last year on webcast, but couldn't hear it properly and it wasn't like the Real Thing, if you know what I mean.

 

So I thought I might make the effort this year.....next year....whenever it is, before I bow gracefully out.

Last year I had three badges. One NM - from one school which has secondary years, one tech from the junior school (no budgetary responsibility) and one (the one they scanned) was written as Ms Wi Tch.

I have also seen IT Tech used as a name!

Last year I was "senior ICT Technician", which it technically true. [Which is the best kind of true] I'm also the Junior Technician and the Apprentice Technician.

Why not just have a "Tech Day"? Why does it always have to be about segregation. [Technically, "Tech Day" discriminates against non-techs... But, I don't care.]

 

I have a dream, where male and female techs work in harmony and nobody is judged on anything. But, then there a shark and lasers... and what I'm guessing is supposed to be a bear.
