Unable to log into active directory

I have bound the imac to the domain with the administrators user name and password.

When network users log in the login screen shakes and nobody can log in.

In the log in preferences all users are allowed to log in.

The mac is also bound to open directory and the active directory has been moved to the top of the list.

This still will not let anyone log in.

Have you looked at the console logs? It maybe work changing to force local home drives as well within the Active Directory settings in Directory utility.

Hi there

Thanks for your reply.I have changed the settings for mobile users in the active directory utility.

I have also set it to force local home directory on and off and I am still unable to log in.

Which version of OSX are you using? I would be tempted to say it could be home drive releated but you need to check the console log to see why its failing.

Might be worth checking that the DNS server in the network settings bit is correct. I had an iMac like that, spent ages trying to diagnose the bloody thing and it turned that the IP for the DNS server was wrong!

Thanks for all your help I have now just rebuilt the machine and sorted it out that way as It was taking too long to try and fix the problem.
