Hello

K-Lite or Vista Codec Pack ? for DVD and Video Codecs - I'm at a that place again where I need to make a choice between these two, perhaps, hopefully you have a better suggestion?

K-Lite - is this the official site ?

Vista Codec Pack -

Their comment "With this package installed you won't need to install any other codecs." look terribly inviting !!! but remain a little concerned because when I installed it last it stopped NumbersUp and Baggn' the Dragon by http://www.edalive.com seem to mess up QuickTime dependant products and games.

Personally i wouldn't use either as there both illigal. Search for "ffdshow tryouts" on google. Thats the same sort of thing as above, but its legal.

I use VLC for DVDs...

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

It plays almost anything you can throw at it- apart from quicktime and realplayer- I'm guessing because those two are copyrighted. But it plays DVDs fine; I prefer it to most DVD players as it's got alot more advanced options.

The interface is skinable if you want to make it look if you're planning on giving this to students or other staff.
