[h=2]Some leavers can be excluded from the Return who should be included (Updated 06/10 15:00)[/h]The group of leavers included in the Census for a school with a Sixth Form should include those who left in the Autumn Term 2011. Unfortunately, there is an issue with our coding that means that this group is not included.

We recommend that schools with Sixth Forms delay uploading to COLLECT until they have checked if they have any Post 16 leavers between 01/08/2011 and the 31/12/2011 (inclusive) who were on roll for more than six weeks in that period.

We have provided a Report Definition to help schools identify Post 16 leavers between 01/08/2011 and the 31/12/2011 (SupportNet Resource 20117). Any of the students listed that left before completing six weeks of their courses do not need to be included in the Census.

We are very sorry for this mistake on our part. The work around is to apply the unlock patch and then add the student Learning Aims information directly in the Census application. The work around will not be suitable for a large group of students, so we have created patch 17512 to solve the problem and this patch is being made available from SOLUS.

If the school opts for patch 17512 they will need to recalculate the Learning Aims panel to benefit from the corrected functionality and all manual edits to that panel will be lost. Direct entry of the missing Learning Aims information can proceed without recalculation and loss of manual edits.

It's getting beyond a joke now

Go back to the other side of the office :p

Sorry sir, forgive me Sir, sorry Sir, I miss my dark cave, the light, she is too bright!! LOL, to be fair, this was the last thing I was "dealing" with on Friday and I thought I'd wait till after the weekend before I crushed some peoples dream (of submitting a census on time without too many problems). Anyway, am now going back towards the light (well in the morning :p)

man the learning aims is my absolute bugaboo at the moment - all of our courses have 5 or 6 qualifications attached to them, and our course manager is a mess, I managed to clear about 200 errors today, but the rest of it is going to give me fits.

really hate that I wasn't told about all the assessment/course mangement/exams stuff until it was absolutely wanted, consuming my life at the moment.

won't be doing it next year dammit, I'll have this stuff clean by January I hope.

sorry, venting.

The LA might want to keep track of who has it installed... so might not be best posting it here.

Actually, it does need to be removed.

awaits the blast of negative rep for a) reporting the post b) infringing capita's copyright myself by posting the excerpt from the patch......

Nope, you're right. @PhilNeal has asked us not to publicise links to download software and this probably extends to patches as well. If someone inadvertently runs it on their system when they shouldn't, then Capita can't be held responsible. It's best if all parties go through their authorised support channels, and it also makes sure they are all aware of the problem. Otherwise the LA could turn around and say, we've got no problems in our house, when that's not the case.

See what happens when SIVADAM retires :D

We all get to hear about SIMS problems here without being badgered in to using the awful forums over at SupportNet?

I've got this patch on solus2. Normally I'd wait till after school but they want it done asap. can I just do it even when people are using sims?

I wouldn't. Most patches want to do a backup, so if you're taking a backup, it's best if you've not got users in doing something active.

If it's that urgent, get users out.

Perhaps, assuming some nice person re-posts them (ahum), currently your missing out on the post on Capita's super dooper new call management system "feature" that (did) forwards you to some very lovely ladies, or so I'm told I wasn't (un)lucky enough to find out. I'm told they were very good at resolving your SIMS stresses :D

Currently got a bet on if it was someone leaving or the password for it was set to the default password.
