Hi guys,

I've got a question for you. Where do you go for your run rate day to day orders?

The reason i ask is that a lot of you come to me for your project work etc (which i appriciate so thanks for that) but not for your smaller orders so i wanted to see who your using now and how i could tempt you away :)

As you know, i give everyone free shipping and i'll always try and beat your current prices. Hopefully we can start doing more day to day stuff too

Thanks in advance guys

Biscuits. Lots of biscuits.

And good prices.

I provide chocolate pizzas! That's got to be better than biscuits???? Ha.

I'll beat any prices too

Thing is though it's not about beating other prices but about providing better pricing the first time.

Well for me it's like that anyway.

Same here (not related to you but all suppliers)

We go on first prices for normal small stuff, no point wasting time and money going back and forth hundreds of quotes etc etc to save £1 off the end price.

Good point well made.

Well i should be cheaper most of the time anyway because of the free shipping and the fact that i personally do all the buying so i'm able to haggle to get better prices. However im realistic and i know that other companies may have offers on etc so it's hard to be the cheapest first all the time. But what i will say is that the more you use me, the cheaper i can make your prices.

I'm all about the bigger picture too so as well as getting the best prices, the service you'll get will be great too. Credit terms, deliveries, returns and extras will all be customised to your needs.

I get what you & @Steve21 are saying, all i'm saying is give me a chance and i think you'll be impressed. Anything big, small or whatever, just drop me an email or give me a call and we'll go from there.

Sound like a plan???? :)

Plus, lets say I quote you on some toners and you buy them, then the next week/month or whenever you want the same again, just send me the order without asking for a quote and, unless my cost dramatically changes so that I'm making a loss (which it almost never does) I'll just get it sent out to you.

On the rare occasion that it has changed, I'll just call or email you and we'll sort it out between us. Nice and easy

Oh I see, Luke @Millgate - you don't acknowledge that some of us DO come to you for our smaller orders...

Hurt now

A chocolate pizza MIGHT make me feel better.........:)

Ha, I know some of you guys do! Just not all of you so I wanted to see what I could do to change that. Maybe then everyone would be as happy as you @witch!

Regards the chocolate pizza, you'll have to keep your fingers crossed for the Summer Promo :)

All our budgets frozen till September, but will happily drop our September toner restock over when we send out for quotes (Must remember to write note!) :) Always looking for new suppliers!

Morning guys,

Just a thought, would it help if i came out to see you? Nothing formal, just a meeting and a bit of lunch (on me obviously). So you know who you're dealing with rather than just a voice or an email address.

Are you all alllowed visitors?

For us, we use Misco for a lot of our day to day stuff.

A big plus point with them for us is the website. When we just want something simple and mundane, it's a great timesaver to be able to browse online, see stock, get a price and fill out an order (internal, not online) without having to e-mail someone and wait for a reply or make a phonecall. It's just easier, you can set out to 'do an order for xxxx' and get the whole task done in one go.

Thanks for that @crc-ict. Would you be up for giving me a try? You mentioned the website, which we lack and i know that's the reasons that the Insights and Miscos of this world do so well, but would you be willing to email me with what you need, whether it be part codes, links etc and i'll guarantee to beat Miscos pricing plus give you free shipping?

Hopefully you'll be impressed by response times, service etc.

We usually use Misco or Business Direct BT, because they have a website. Which comes in handy if i'm not sure of the exact model/part number i can search, compare prices between different makes etc. Only if i cannot find what i want on there do i then start thinking about emailing companies and awaiting responses.

Example this morning, 2 power extension leads had gone missing, from being told to ordering took less than a minute while i was doing other things, not email 5 companies and wait, get distracted, not check mail for 3 hours, only find 2 replies, then re-email as not the bit we wanted but was the part they wanted to sell us. I'm not saying this example is you Luke but you'd be amazed how many times that happens, i'm a 1 man band here and email/phone discussions take longer than a website that doesn't answer back :p

Cheers for the feedback guys, i really appriciate it.

What about creating your quote online and then just sending me the basket and i'll beat the prices for you and give you free shipping? We have an online store ourselves but you require a log on to see prices. Have a look and see what you think and if you want a log in, let me know.

Just thinking of ways to improve!

The online store looks like a way to go for us. We wouldn't be allowed to place orders online (local procedures mean everything needs 2 signatures and has to go through the finance office) but being able to look up pricing would be ideal. As has already been said, however good someone is on the phone, or however quickly they respond to e-mails, sometimes just looking up quickly on a website is the fastest way to get things done - there are only 1.5 of us now, and seconds count.

Cracking! I'll get you an account set up. Maybe i should let more people know about the online store then! :)

We normally go to ebuyer or Misco, they always have the cheapest prices first time. Have emailed Millgate and a lot of the other smaller suppliers, but they consistently loose out on pricing. Occasionally you can push them to get slightly better pricing, but we dont have the time to negotiate on every single order. The services we get from Misco is excellent (and ok ish from ebuyer) that we've never had a need to go elsewhere.
