Interactive projectors.

Hi,

 

Has anyone had any experience with interactive projectors? The devil is in the detail of course, and on the face of it, they look like a no brainer. Does anyone know what the pitfalls are?

we are having around 53 of the new epson interactive projectors installed, I think the model only came out around 1 month ago. We have had the projector on trial for a month, we didnt find the pens heavy or fragile. We had all ages and class ability levels test them out, the pens for the epson are larger than the average.

We put the short throw epsons in - not the interactive one but one thing to keep in mind if you are hoping to transmit the image via the network, when playing videos etc they appear quite laggy.

 

The money I thought I would save going down the short throw route was spent in the end having to buy cat5 to VGA convertors!

I have two different models of the epson interactive projectors. Single and dual use. Love em so far. Only issue I've had is when a bright sun beam hit the board it sends it crazy. Ive been using slightly glossy board in the infants in the hope that they could also write on them. I guessed this didn't help the matter do have matte boards in juniors. Oh the pens are fine after they have got used to them. We've only had one break and that was probably after being man handled by a five year old. They managed to pull the nib off somehow.

We have 2 Smart LightRaise Projectors in.

 

They are not laggy, when comparing to a Smart Board, and the pens don't seem neither heavy or fragile.
