Guessing it's from phone. Bunch of latest Samsung ones give you free upgrade while on contract, but remove it once contract over

Methinks its time those of us who've been paying out for 50GB since the beginning were given some sort of reward by Mr Dropbox

I have just bought a Galaxy S3 (not on contract) and connected my dropbox about 2 hours later got the email. Quite a result, going connect the wifes dropbox later and see what happens .....you never know!

 

I think I better edit my Sig being a bit greedy else.

If you have a brand new Samsung phone with Dropbox already installed, you may be eligible to earn 48GB of free space for up to two years. Here's how:

 

Complete Get Started

The most common reason people have not yet received their free space is because they have not yet finished the quests on the Get Started tab. To claim your extra space, complete five of the seven quests from Get Started. Please note, some steps require your desktop computer.

 

Is Dropbox pre-loaded?

Dropbox must be pre-loaded on your new Samsung phone to be eligible for the promotion. The first account that signs up will get 48GB of free space, provided you have completed Get Started.

 

Non-participating carriers

Select carriers have opted-out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible. Among those not currently participating are:

 

•United States: AT&T, Verizon

•Japan: NTT DoCoMo

•Korea: SK Telecom

 

Still a cool thing Just remember after 2 years, back it up!

How do you manage with data protection. I think drop box files are stored in the USA how does that impact on your data protection policy?
