but can't find one :(

I want it to let me filter stuff (like Google Gmail labels or email rules) so can put all tweets by edugeekers (and all tweets that have edugeek in them) into one stream, all tweets with edchat/edtech into another, raspberry pi into another

And then quite importantly - all the others into an all the others stream

Any chance there is anything like that out there?

Sound like a job for Twitter lists. :)

Create a separate list for each group of people you follow (e.g. ‏@AngryTechBlog, GrumbleDook, EduTech90 etc. go in a list called "EduGeek's") and then use a Twitter client such as TweekDeck to view the lists in separate columns.

Tweetdeck seems to be fine for simple filtering but I can;'t see how to get it do do all of @AT,@GD @EduTech etc and also add into same column anything with the word edugeek (or any other keyword I want) in it :(

I need/want finer filtering/control:(

You could make a list and add those geeks to them, like my Geeky People list :D

But how would I then add any tweet with edugeek in it to the same column?

Just seemed to have a lot of different tools for doing stuff similar to what you were after. Most should still be around I imagine.
