Backup (or synchronise) over WAN: solution needed

Hi all

I have a data set that is 60GB and growing.

I need to have a backup/synchronise the data set at another site.

I can physically take a copy of the data to the new site so the solution would require either synchronising on a schedule or incremental backup.

The servers are not in the same forest so dfs can't be used, anyone do anything like this already?

WAN link is slow (512Kb)

I'd look at a backup solution to do it on an incremental basis myself. If you want an active, non-backup copy at both sites, you could do a backup first, then a restore job to the 'backup' site's local cache of the data.

 

Something like Tivoli Storage Manager would be able to do it I think?

We use logmein backup and use it to backup to a large 3 tb portable usb hard drive attatched to a server in a partner school ... Cost £28.00 pa for the licence and £100.00 ish for the drive

Shadowprotect also does this where you can seed the initial data then just sync changes.
