Here are the links to the Nexus 7 pre-order page. Shipping is an additional £9.99.

8GB: £159 / 16GB: £199

The tablet might be sold elsewhere too, but will be more expensive.

If you're reluctant to spend that much hard-earned cash at the Google Play Store, Google's senior VP of mobile Andy Rubin has hinted to AllThingsD that the ASUS-made tablet could end up at retail stores before too long; the Play-only availability was just what Google had to mention at I/O. There could be some markup in other channels, given that Google is selling at what's very nearly wholesale prices. (Source)

I want one....

But as there is no 3G im wondering if the apps and things like the calendar that need the internet will work offline and then sync when there is a wifi connection?

other than that I like it.

would beat carrying a laptop about when i can use the nexus 7 for exactly the same thing.

Why wouldn't it cache those things? Android always has done, they wouldn't take that capability away in a new release, that'd be monumentally dumb.

It doesn't cache everything, Drive docs are URL's for example - so you couldn't edit a document that hadn't been opened.

that im not too worried about, its the creation of things offline that id want to do then sync it online via wifi.

Great, now I have to decide between a Toshiba Excite, Galaxy Tab and this for a 7" tablet.

edit: No, I don't - lack of SD card makes it a non-starter, unless there's something under the covers I can hack one into.

Looks good, but one big fail is the the Google Play music service which they're promoting on it is only available in the US, not the UK:doh:
