Morning All

So yesterday I go to purchase a copy of Wyse Package Studio from Symantec to create MSI packages to run out on our various 2008 networks.

Now the normal education price of this application is around £800

I fould out that Symantec have sold this title on, and it’s been re branded by its new owner as Admin Studio, and now has a education price tag of around £5000

What I would like to ask is what other packages are other schools using, as much as I liked Wyse Package Studio I don’t think the schools are going to pay that much for it so I need to find a replacement package and get it purchased next week so please can you guys / girls post your comments of what you use and how well you find the package for day to day use.

TIA

Advanced Installer, although I've only ever used it in the freeware mode.

Used this the other day to package up a peice of software I made using java & l4j.

The msi It chucked out was perfect, even with the /q flag.

Reccomended, well, the free bit anyway.

I use a mix of WinInstall LE, Advanced Installer and Orca.

Ditto, never found the need for anything more than this for general package building.

Wininstall if I really have to but I only use:

#APP V

#Most .exe's can be extractable to get a msi then I use ORCA to edit our desktop shortcuts etc..

MSI packagers are just to messy
