I've done it here for a copier. One for Pupils and one for Staff. I then use these print queues and manage them differently using PaperCut.

Not had a problem so far.

Normally it should work fine with 99% of printers/photocopiers.

I've only seen problems when using photocopiers with ID management, with an ID management service running on a server. Creating multiple printers pointing to the same IP just didn't work. I never got to the bottom as to why...

Why would you need to?

If you create one port pointing to one IP address, you can reference that port in multiple local printers (one for colour, one for B&W, one for simplex, one for duplex etc all using the same port).

Duplicating the actual port creation seems uneccasary, unless I am missing something?

No not at all.

I some times create PS, and PCL drivers pointed at the same IP.

If you wanna just add a driver you can go to advanced and add it. I do this for pcs running x86 and x64
